lol, j/k. actually the length of the exhaust tubes of the header are different. Generally the long tubes make more power on the low end and short tubes make more power on the top end. has to do with exhaust flow and velocity.

im sure others will chime in with a better explanation.

Both shorties and longtubes make more power then stock manifolds(depending on the design....99% of the time this is true other then LSx engines, where buying shorties gains you a whole 3rwhp if you're lucky).

Shorties are usually good for a vehicle that needs to go through emissions in states like Kommiefornia because they check to make sure the kitties underneath are in the stock location. This is why long tubes are not always 50 state legal, because they more the kitties back farther and the CARB/EPA nazi's think the cat doesn't work as well.

Long tubes actually make more power then shorties all across the board, but especially down low. Most people I know run an off-road pipes with Long Tubes, but you can still run kitties if you choose.

Re: JBA Short Tubes Finally

I want long tubes as well, but as already stated... the Republic of Khalifornia has restricted emmissions laws and I'd hate to have to do swaps to smog and reswap afterward... so the shorty's are in my future...

Re: JBA Short Tubes Finally

Okay finally back to the Dyno.....previous best before short tube headers was 301.04 HP and 358.69 Torque at 63.67 degrees and 32% humidity. New numbers 316.02 HP and 372.17 Torque at 76.19 degrees and 56% humidity. So not too bad of an increase. Still waiting on a new tune from UPREV.
