Decided I wanted to cut down on the air from engine compartment getting into the filter box. I spent too much time on this and it was probably more work than it was worth, but it was fun and gave me time to play with the Titan...What I did- "rhino-lined" the tube and box, I did this also becasue I didn't want all the chrome. It turned out great. I also thought that maybe this would cut down on the "metal" sound that some have been complaining about. I don't hear the metal sound yet, so maybe it worked maybe not...I also put a piece of sheet metal in the box and made the hole where the tube goes smaller and put a strip of foam caulk backing around it to seal it further around the tube. I attached the sheet metal to the box using small sheet metal screws then grinding them down. It's not as tight as a fit as I was trying around the tube, but it's close enough for me. You guys be the judge. I like it alot, but don't know if it was worth the time involved...I love the swooosh sound!

Looks good... I like how it blends in with everything in the engine bay. Chrome is nice but not always the best in appearance due to what is surrounding it. Nice Job!

Oh yeah, did I mention it was a Titan...
That looks NICE! I personally like the shiny chrome but that looks really nice...
I'm not trying to nit pick, just trying to see if my AEM is different. Is yours chrome or polished aluminum?

I just used the 3M rattle can undercoating. You can buy the brand name herculiner stuff and that would work also, but more $. It took about 2 cans to do. It was originally the polished finish, but I sanded it and the box before coating, PITA. Since posting I have gone on a 600 mile road trip and have noticed gain going from originally 16mpg to now 18. That is not the reason I got the AEM, but a welcomed benefit. I also have a magnaflow. I will see on the way home if I get the same mpg or if it was a freak thing. Thanks for the comments!

Maybe so, I got about a 1mpg increase when I added my fram boost intake, when it was my only mod.

I think that is one kick azz job Fedxr. Looks really nice, not to shiny and matches the surrounding. I would think you gained some insulating properties as well with the lining. So you get a on several aspects!
I have a question. How much different does your box look now vs. when it arrived? Does it come with a full box or just a partial to seal off? Also does the AEM come with a TB spacer for the Titan?
