My JBA Muffler broke

I was getting a rattling sound from the exhaust. When I looked, I found out the muffler was cracked on the weld at the exit. I bought it used, but I may hit up the original owner to see if there was any warranty or not. Does anyone here know what the warranty for the JBA is?

What should I replace the muffler with if this doesn't work out?

Re: My JBA Muffler broke

I just installed my JBA kit on Thursday. I recalled seeing something about a limited lifetime warranty in the product registration paperwork.

Here is the warranty info from JBA's website. Best of luck to you.

Re: My JBA Muffler broke

I'm pretty sure you will have to send the muffler to JBA for replacement. If you can see the broken weld, you might want to take in to any shop with a welder and pay $10 or so to get it rewelded. The shipping costs alone will be well over $10.

Re: My JBA Muffler broke

I'd weld it myself, but it's stainless steel. Also, it sounds like the internal tube came loose.

Thanks for showing me the warranty info. After 2 years, they cover 50% of the replacement cost to the original owner. It looks like just buying a new muffler is the easiest thing for me to do.

Re: My JBA Muffler broke

Hmmm does it look like this? This how mine is cracked. Amazing how much vibration noise this lil crack makes.

Re: My JBA Muffler broke

That's exactly what happened to mine. I think I'll go with a different muffler this time around.

Re: My JBA Muffler broke

I have been looking into the Aero Turbine 3030XL. Seems to be pretty nice and sounds good.

Re: My JBA Muffler broke

Why not get a magnaflow for $60 and be happy with their lifetime warranty?

Re: My JBA Muffler broke

Yea strongly considering that too. Not sure if I should go 14 or 18.

Re: My JBA Muffler broke

I run the 18" and love it. Highly recommended.

I was thinking about this one:
http://www.jegs.com/i/Magnaflow/642/...0002/-1?CT=999

It is the same length as the JBA muffler. I'm worried that if I get a shorter muffler the truck will be much louder and drone will be bad. Then again, I am looking at an oval muffler vs. my current round muffler, so maybe the oval is quieter??

Re: My JBA Muffler broke

You'll be safe with the 22" I think.
