Nitrous Project Start

I wanted to show the bracket a friend of mine made for my N20 project this spring. I didnt want to mount the bottle inside the truck since I wont be riding around with it all the time. So this is what we came up with. Aluminum welded and bent to fit in my toolbox. Then we took and gave it that special touch with a brass wire wheel. I will be drilling a hole in the box to run wiring and line through a rubber grommet. It is easily removable and can't be seen if I wanted it that way.

Setup to run a progressive 100 shot. Wanted to be able to control it and not lunch the tranny with a WOT 100HP shot. Who knows, until it's in and tested I may change my mind and set it up aggressively. I have everything I need.....just taking it easy and making sure I dont goof something up.

Thanks for the reply.

Re: Nitrous Project Start

Roy - looks NICE! Keep us update on the project as it moves along. I'm interested in throwing a kit on my truck some day. I like the idea of not having the bottle in the cab.

Thanks bud! I thought it turned out pretty decent myself for some scrap material and a couple of days after work drinking beer.

It's not the most optimal place to mount for these reasons:

1.) Bottle suggested to run parallel vs. horizontal.
2.) Ambient temperatures affecting the bottle pressure.
3.) Not accessable from cab of truck.

But I will turn the nozzle so the tube is facing the same way as parallel. (1)
Bottle heater and pressure gauge inside truck to monitor. (2)
Hmmm........dunno, maybe a remote opener down the road? (3)

I already have my N20 tune from Uprev. I switched out the thermostat this weekend to a 170* to help detonantion as well. I have a set of NGK iridium colder plugs to install. Hmmm, am I forgetting anything?

Re: Nitrous Project Start

I <3 nitrous. OG NOS.

Wouldn't do it in a truck though, of course personal opinion - I don't "race" this truck. LOL.
