I need help now - CAI install problem!!!!

I am trying to remove the factory intake on my 2008 and there is a bolt under the edge of the filter housing I can't get to. I checked the backside under the wheel well and it's just threads poking out.

How do I get to the bolt to remove it?

Please help - I have about 2 hours of day light left.

What type of intake are you installing?

When i installed my intake, it told me to remove the washer bottle to remove on of the bolts, although you can just yank on the bolt and it will come out instead since its on a rubber grommet. I cant tell if thats the bolt that this rule applies too.

Pull up on the AirBox really HARD and steady, don't wiggle it!!! It's only held on with a bushing and will slide off. It's intimidating but will be fine.

Re: I need help now - CAI install problem!!!!

I am installing the Injen CAI. It looks like the bolt goes through a large rubber washer and through some plastic on the intake.

Yeah you just have to work it off. Apply some pretty good force and it will come off. Do you best to be gentle though.

If you pull up firm enough it will slide off of the bolt. Don't worry your not going to break it.

Re: I need help now - CAI install problem!!!!

How many bolts did you take out so far. I had to yank the crap out of mine to pull out the bottom. I didnt have to go under the wheelwell or use any special sockets.

Got it - thanks. The Injen instructions just say remove bolts but not how. I figured I neede some Nissan tool. It never occurred to me to just pull up.

The bolt is attached to the fender. The airbox has a rubber grommet that holds it to the bolt. Once you pull the grommet off the bolt and take the airbox out you can easily remove the bolt.
