Well, Banks is rougher around the edges... and louder... all around... Nismo is reserved and well-toned but raucous when you get on it. Borla is similar but considerably more expensive... For my taste, the Nismo fit the bill. Let us know what you decide.
The one thing I really like about this exhaust is the steady and even sound... It's constant up and down the revband. Some I've heard rev nicely but "blap" and "pop" on the way back down. This one does NOT do that. It's creamy smooth up and down the rev scale. THAT is nice......
Well, one of the studs turned instead of the nut breaking loose, despite an overabundance of penetrating spray.... So, I figured, "fine... I'll just back the whole stud/nut combo out and reinstall it that way." Well, when the end of the stud got even with the flange, it bound, and the nut broke loose. Then the stud wouldn't turn either in or out.
So, out came the torch... heated the flange... got it going back in..... it went back about halfway and started squeaking... so I applied more heat.... It turned about 3 more cranks and broke off....
The best advice would be to use penetrating oil several times prior to actually attacking the bolts. If the stud starts turning..... STOP!!!! Clean the threads with a wire brush and lubricate it to try to get it all the way out without having it bind.
One good thing, once that one broke, it made up my mind that I was going to replace all 4 studs and start fresh with the new system... Oddly enough, the two on the side that caused me no grief were the hardest to extract....
I have a question... just seems funny and the question pops in my head asking why?
But anyways why does it have you losen the nuts connecting your Cat converters to your exhaust manifold?, i mean im not taking the cats off im bolting the exhaust system to them, so i guess why? if theres a concern reason please school me, but i would rather not touch them I know the seal is good at that end...

The cat studs he was talking about were the ones after the cats that connect to the rest of the exhaust not the ones that connect the cats to the manifold.

I know what studs he's talking about, but in the install directions it says to loosen the other ones not take them off but to loosen them. not sure why it would say that.. im not touching them lol
I didn't touch them either... and I wouldn't. There's no need to. The old system has about 3" of play without removing those bolts... more than enough to take the system apart and off the truck. Leave the front bolts alone, is my advice.....
I see your back from scaring the cows on your little roadtrip

Yeah... Fun times! Traveling through Amish country down near Lancaster, PA, there was a broken electrical fence and a cow had just wandered out onto the shoulder. As I drove by, the sound of the NISMO scared the crap out of the cow and he ran back inside the fence! I should call that farmer and tell him I did him a favor!
