What am I missing?

I have an '07 titan and don't understand the problems everyone complains about with the gas milage. I havent done too much to mine but maybe someone can tell me what I am not understanding. The exhaust...used a flowmaster 3 inch header collector to bring the two down pipes from the stock exhaust together and ran that directly into a borla 3 inch stainless straight through muffler with a 2 inch reducer inside to increase back pressure but get incredible sound and finally dumped it out through a 3 inch turndown right off the muffler. The intake.....this is my poor boy rendition of a cold air intake. I dropped in a K&N filter and cut out the inlet between the fender to the airbox to about a 4x6 inch opening. I put a throttle body riser on just because I got it so cheap off ebay. I'm getting 19 mpg on the highway cruising between 75 and 80 with the cruise control on and 16 around town if I don't play too much. I had a IAT sensor bypass/simulator that helped make a little more power but cost me 1-2 mpg so I pulled that out. I don't have any dyno numbers but while I can feel a slight loss of torque the top end really came to life and the sound is sexy as hell. My question is why am I getting the gas milage I am and noone else is?

I have been getting about 13MPG on my last few tanks, mostly because I can't seen to stay on paved roads, but I have a 4x, that hurts it.
