Cut wasn't exactly what I was looking for, wish it matched the radius of the tip more but I'm not exactly worried about rust out here in arid socal. I may throw some touch up paint on the edge just for protection.
Take the tip off, make a very smooth curve to follow the conture of the exaust tip. weld a small bead around the inside edge for support, prep, prime, paint... it will look sweet when it's done correctly.
I'd have to agree with all the above.... awesome idea, no so good execution. You better get a body shop or somebody to fix that up, the paint around the cut may start to get f'd up if you don't.
I fixed it up a bit, radiused (sp?) the hole to match the tip and threw on some touch up paint around the inside and edges to guard against corrosion. Not really all too worried about up close looks though cause there are quite a few rock dings in that area. Thanks for the feedback though. Maybe someday she'll get a whole new coat of paint. This truck is an 04 with 80,000 plus miles on it btw.
Debadged,4 piece billet grille, Diamond plate truck Box, 20"Akuza wheels, tech12's w/ Memphis PR1-1000 amp / M-10's, Kenwood 7019 DD,DVD HU, Line of Fire LED light bar, LED third brake light, ADJURE crystal eyes tails, EFX HID lows and fogs, painted to match MADA air dam / inchannel window visors, Stillen Billet aluminum cap covers, 15% front tint, Non BT mirror swap.
Well at this point,I would now get some door edge guard molding (very thin) and install around the edge to at least cover the jagged edges.Might want to paint the bare metal before you install this.
I really like the JBA's. Although seat of your pants i really can't tell much. Weird thing though, the truck seems to shift wayyyyy smoother with the headers on, don't know why. Also it sounds pretty cool almost like i was firing my stock 40 series into a tunnel, gets damn loud but as most of you know doesn't sound quite as good without a load on it.
Although seat of your pants i really can't tell much.
So would you do it again if you had to? I am going to get some headers but I am trying to decide Nismo or JBA. I also live in Cali so Nismo will eventually be a issue with the carb police though if it's night and day between them I may just take the chance.
I really went with the JBA cause my third exhaust manifold cracked and it just seemed like it would solve my problems long term. The stockers are $700 each from Nissan.
