Stillen VK-Pro II..Worth it or useless?

Seeing on how there is no uprev for 08's yet, would opting for the VK-Pro 2 in the meantime be an alright venture? Does anyone have any experience with it..good? bad? what the hell was i thinking when I bought this?
Oh and whats up with this Bully Dog programmer as well...I just seen an add in a Truck magazine for the programmer just for a TITAN today at work...

The Stillen module is a generic tune, as is the Bully Dog. Between those two, I would wait on the BD, as it is cheaper.


Between the Stillen module and UpRev, I would go with the UpRev for a few more dollars. With the UpRev, at least you are getting a custom tune and the WOT restriction is removed. Plus, as you add other mods, you can get retuned.

Few more dollars? The Stillen is $45 more than Uprev. And there's no reprogramming capabilities. Good news for some '08 members looking for some HP, but you gotta pay to play.

Uprev will be releasing their 07-08 packages soon, along with a possible end user program. Might be worth contemplating for the next couple of months.

Means you being the end user could be able to tune your truck if you so wished and were capable.

How soon is "soon"? My '08 is finally starting to "wake up" at 10,000 miles and I want more!

This is correct and it's very exciting provided you don't blow up your truck, lol.

I know of at least four IRC VK56 members who have this program now and it seems to be working very well so it shouldn't be long till the public gets there hands on it.

I however am going to let one of the race club members tune my truck because I don't want to experiment on my daily driver.

If you take your time to make sure your AFR and timing are within tolerances you should be OK but I would rather have an expert do mine.

Soon as in......mid to late summer possibly? Who knows with Uprev.

The AFR's are fairly easy to figure unless you are heavily tuned or have power adders.

I think the biggest obstacle for me would be the timing. These Titans take more timing than one would just normally throw on a tuned truck. Maybe it's the JWT cams i have?

Also i could see people fiddling all day long with the WOT setting, trying to get it right. It took a few pulls to get it close, but that was by a pro tuner.

I have never tuned but I hear a bit about it and there are some finer nuances that are ignored on most peoples tunes.

In fact, although I could have had mine tuned a lot better, I thought I would wait until I get the new intake and throttle body before really going to town on it.

It's tough to get right sometimes and I don't want to mess with it until I have all the parts on there. I am still running Toomanymods second cam tune, it's a mild tune compared to a lot of them but it's safe and it runs pretty good. I probably have at least a tenth to be gained in just the tune right now.

04 with VK Pro module - My lifted truck seems to have gained as much pep as stock. Im happy with it and I have the ability to remove the mod for any "warranty" work and not worry about shipping my ECU to get it reflashed.

I bought mine for the pure reason to not worry about voiding my warranty if I went in. The uprev may be something I look into after my warranty is out.
