Re: ....banks Warranty Sucks ...........

You want a warranty for something you did not buy? Sure it would be nice for them to back it up but since you didnt buy it they have no obligation to do anything.

Agreed - but a company like Banks should offer to split the cost on replacement or something similar. Maybe he didn't ask nice enough.

Ask Toomnymods how they treated him when his Banks muffler grenaded. He was the original buyer but got pretty much the same treatment, or should I say lack of treatment.

Re: ...... Banks Exhaust Warranty ........

Wow, sorry to hear about your misfortune with the banks exhaust. Good customer service is hard to come by these days. Although, I will testify that it still exists. The house i bought two years ago had an existing ceiling fan in the game room, but it would only run on low, the medium and high speed settings would not work, so i pulled the fan and found the model number and a toll free number to home depot, when i got a hold of home depot, they told me that brand now services all their own products and gave me the toll free number to that company (unfortunately i can't recall the maker of the fan at the moment), but when i got a hold of them and told them my problem, they said sounds like your capacitor or switch is bad, asked for my address and sent me out one of each at no charge, not even shipping....i wanna say the company is Harbor hill or something to that effect. Anyway, installed the new capacitor and switch and she works like a charm....
It is good to know that good customer service still exists in some places..Maybe Banks should take a few lessons in customer service from this company...

Sure it is, if you're the original owner. If you buy a used Titan and the factory warranty(ies) have expired, and something breaks, do you bash Nissan for their warranties not being worth the paper they are written on?

I am sure that Banks specifies that the original warranty is for the original purchaser only.

Not very cool to be bashing Banks for a company policy, IMO. If they did business the way you say, I could buy a 5 year old system off ebay and get it replaced for free under their warranty, which in turn makes them lose money. I am sure there is a method to their "madness."

Re: .... Banks exhaust Warranty ......

I didn't buy my truck from the local Nissan dealer but he didn't have a problem replacing several items under warranty..whats the differance....guys the muffler has less than 30,000 miles on it...they wrote the warranty not me..the best part about this ..several other guys with there recipts from Banks have had the same problem with this same muffler...Banks have a bad attitude toward customer service...i just want to make everyone aware of this...Gibson, magnaflow, and Billy Boat stand by there product...they could have at least offered me a replacement at a discounted price...

Re: ....banks Warranty Sucks ...........

I will tell you a secret, Banks doesn't care anything about this because they make thousands upon thousands of dollars everyday from the local consumer. Its real easy to write warrenty on the box. its hard to come through with the service to back up that piece of paper.

if I were you and you live close to the Banks company, drive over to there place and sit right across the street with a HUGE sign and tell everyone passing by that banks is garbage and to not buy it cause it falls apart. I done this when Ford would not honor my warrenty for my stock Mustang. and it got results QUICK!

Ford motor co. would not warrenty a 2003 Mustang GT when it had 873 miles on it and the clutch exploded into a million pieces taking the flywheel with it. They said I was racing it and that is failed, so they are not liable to honor my warrenty...So I pushed the car across the street from the dealer with a huge sign on top of my broke down car. I started at 8am when they opened and by 4pm that day my car was fixed with a brand new clutch, flywheel and tranny...

Sign said, "LOOK, I got a new mustang with 800 miles on it and its already broke down. Ford wont fix it!!! please pull in and talk to me..."

Re: ....banks Warranty Sucks ...........

MANY MANY MANY manufacturers are like this. i work in the RV industry. about 1/2 of manufac. state warranty applies to original owner only. i install banks kits on motorhomes. i know and work with them. i have had expiriences where ford, chevy dodge whoever denied warranty claims due to having aftermarket controllers trans modules exhausts you name it. gale banks himself will go to court and fight if not he will pay for the work to be done. no saying this happenes every day but they do a lot of R&D into the products and i have never had a problem with them backing repairs
