Magnaflow 16780 Catback Review

I just installed the system on my 2007 KC 4wd. Overall I like the sweet tone this puts out. It is not too loud at cruse speed, yet has a boss tone when you step on it.

I will most likely replace the supplied intermediate pipes with a custom fabricated pieces that I will have welded on. The stock ones tend to vibrate loose.

One tackweld, on each slip joint, will keep those pipes from moving.

I had the pipes fully welded yesterday. This is the way to go in my opinion.
I can always disassemble the system from the connection after the muffler.

I wish Magnaflow would offer this kit with an option to have the intermeadiate
pipes made for welding.

What size muffler does that come with? I'm guessing it is the 18" but wanted to make sure.

The 16780 comes with a 5x8x24, so it will be a tad quieter than the 18".

Thanks for the info. I think I'll stick with plan "A" which is just the muffler swap to the 18" Magnaflow.

Re: Magnaflow 16780 Catback Review

Find a Magnapack muffler and put it on there...That will prolly be one of the loudest exhausts ever...

The Maganpacks only come in a kit for Mustangs, but if you look around you can usually find just the mufflers. its a 14" straight through muffler, basically a glass pack cut in half..
