You may change your mind about loaning your truck to me after you got it back but thank you for the vote of confidence, lol.

The new beta crew should give us all the info we need to make an intelligent decision on this mod and if I didn't have cams I would consider some testing myself but my truck is too far out of the norm for the data to be any good to anyone.

Lol, yes I am and I hope your truck don't get blowed up either but I think you should be OK if you are just mildly modded.

sounds good. He has pretty much what I do so we should see similar results. Hopefully they'll put out more maps and address the mods as well.

Re: Power Pup & Wot!

In all seriousness, you guys have given me something to wonder about. I haven't received the BD yet so don't have any access to documentation. My truck is a FFV (I think all '07s are). When developing these replacement programs, how do the developers take into acount the differences in models? I would assume that the tuning of the FFVs differs from that of the non FFVs?

I thought the main difference between FFVs and non-FFvs was the seals and rubber in the fule pump, fuel lines, etc. I may be very wrong but I don't think the ECU programing is different.

Yes, the ECU is programmed differently.

E85 is 105 Octane!

And the engine has to adjust to that.

while i do agree that a custom tune for your individual truck is far superior to any generic tune, i do not agree with your statement...

these BD programmers are used by thousands of people with modded trucks with no problems. remember, they have made these programmers for dodge, chevy, and ford for a long time now. if they were meant to be used with only stock trucks, that would clearly be mentioned by BD for liability reasons

the A/F may not be ideal using one of these with mods, it should still be far from dangerous...

for increased octane the ECU only adjusts the timing right?

Re: Power Pup & Wot!

I think I remember reading somewhere that the injectors on the FFVs are higher capacity? If it's only one set of maps to cover 2005-2007 non FFV and FFV how does it pick? I know that this is what A/F ratio monitoring is for to some extent. Does the ECU just use the feedback from the exhaust sensors to adjust within a broad area of adjustment mapped out by the programmers? Pardon my ignorance on this.
