STS Turbo Titan

Hopefully someone from STS reads this. If developed and sold, STS would have the only Turbo kit on the market for Titans; which may be a small segment but I believe a much higher percentage of Titan owners are performance oriented. Especially compared to silverado and F-150 owners. If the folks driving them were performance oriented, they would have never bought them in the first place.
In addition, with Uprev Osiris 2.0 coming available, we could have forced induction without one of those junky a$$ piggy back ECUs.
Lets start letting STS know we are interested. i.e. phone calls and email.

Re: STS Turbo Titan

Speed Force Racing will be adding Twin Turbos to my Titan in the near future.

After seeing what problems STS had making a kit for the 350Z and how poor the quality is (in that case), I don't think I would ever buy from STS.

Re: STS Turbo Titan

They have a test vehicle by now i am sure....they were bringing one in a while back. I am sure the ECU and tuning is giving the owner fits. That was/will be their main issue.

The big question is how much lag on this setup there is. Every video I have watched showed a controlled launch/brake stand. I wanna know real world drop the hammer from a dig what these puppies will do.

Keep the stock manifolds/bpipes and all should be alright on the spooling of the turbo. I know there was a lot of R&D on the fbodies on the LS1tech board(just go to www.ls1tech.com and hit up the forced induction section search). I am thinking of performing a simular rearmount type of setup on my Titan once the warranty(sp?) is gone.

Re: STS Turbo Titan

Talked to Richard at UpRev yesterday and it seems that STS is awaiting Osiris version 2.0 to integrate into the Titan turbo system they will hopefully develop. STS still has a titan scheduled to come in this month for R&D.
UpRev Osiris 2.0 is going to support forced induction systems without piggy backs and enable the removal of stand alones in some cases; enhance end user tuner features.

Re: STS Turbo Titan

I have a buddy that put the stage III (complete at $6K) on his 03 Silverado extra cab 5.3L and it spools up quick. His launch is about the same but a second into it, the truck starts pulling like a scalded dog and doesn't stop. I used to be able to drive circles around him and I am now nothing but rear view mirror material about 3/4 of the way through my first gear.
I can't imagine the rear mount being very good on a vehicle that doesn't already have a strong normally aspirated lauch as it does have a lag from throttle stab but the power follows the NA launch pretty seamless. I assume that is why the STS rear mount market is V8s and large V6s.

Thanks for posting those findings.

With the pro tuners buying into Uprev now, one of them could do it with the software. I figured Mr. Squires would sooner or later contact Uprev for tuning software. That will be a potent combination when done right. I wonder if STS bought into Uprev and can tune Titan's now, or if he just bought a normal package like we get for the time being.

Re: STS Turbo Titan

Not sure. The guy I talked to at STS had little insight other than they have a Titan scheduled to come in for R&D. The rest of the info came from UpRev. I think the current Osiris supports FI, but requires a "manual" effort. 2.0 is going to be more "point and click" friendly to the pro tuners and end users. I can't wait for them to finish as anyone who currently owns the full version of Osiris with cable will be grandfathered and provided a free copy of 2.0. The UpRev programmer had a kidney stone just removed so the completion of 2.0 has been delayed but should be complete in 4-6 weeks.
