ECUTalk or blaZt Datascan?

I would like to be able to run my own 2* timing advance. Does anyone know if either of these programs that are PC compatible will work?

From the write-up, I believe the ECUTalk one is only monitoring:

Features
ECU part number on connect (23710-xxxxx)
Read fault codes
Clear fault codes
Detect available sensors (metric/imperial options, plus many additional derived sensors)
View sensors on gauges in full-screen mode (or working area option to show taskbar for PC)
Automatic adjustment of gauge size to maximise screen use - useful for widescreen displays
Logging to file (very high rate with decent CPU speed)
Automatic connection and gauge setup on program startup, auto reconnection if lost once in gauges mode
Maybe some bugs even

It says NOTHING about being able to change engine or ECU parameters.

And the other one only mentions the Z-cars, not Titans. I am not certain, but the ECU is different on this truck than on the Z-cars, which can be determined through the Uprev FAQ's on their website.

I personally don't think either one is suited for the Titan, but a quick email or phone call to those companies will settle it. Do that and let us know.

THese programs will not work on our Trucks. They were designed to work with the older Consult vehicles built pre-2000. Our trucks use a newer Consult version and it is not compatible. The only other software other than Uprev's Cipher software that can do a timing advance is AutoEnginuity with the Nissan Enhanced package.

even if they did run, the only changes they can make to the ecu are temporary (lost on engine restart of when software is closed).

Wow! Thank you for that totally inaccurate description. Apparently, you don't really know how ECU's work. That's ok. It's only your first post. Hopefully, you'll read a bit and learn some things.

Why do you say that?

Are you familiar with the Nissan Consult, UpRev Cipher, or Autoenginuity?

Wouldnt it be cheaper to find a local dealer or TitanTalk member that has Cipher to do the 2 degree advance? Or you could just go all out and get the real deal Cipher program that is specific for your vehicle.

sorry, i should have qualified what i said better

when i said "the only changes they can make", they was referring to the original applications in first post, not consult2 ones like cipher

consult 1 capabilities, unlike consult 2, are limited to changes to the ecu only whilst running and are lost when the car is turned off.

those with consult 2 cars can have adjustments made that arent lost (like the timing advance).
