Just letting you guys know this 3400 rpm torque converter is going in on monday, total cost is just shy of 800.00 for the ipt torque converter which is $520.00, plus install of 240.00, and 4 quarts of amsoil fluid at 9 bucks a bottle.
Can't wait to ride a wheelie off the line when spraying nitrous with this thing, lol
here's the pics..
nicely re-painted
gears inside here look brand new wonder if they swapped them out for new ones.. outer shell also has a weld on it im sure they cut it open and tweaked the fins and shortened the remaining ones to make them more efficient at what they do..

well i knew this dream was too good to be true, today just got worse and worse for me as the day went on.. first thing the aamco technician guy tells me when he opens my door and starts my truck is my TCU has a stored code in it, told me it has something to do with the "gear ratio out of sequence" with the speedo, most likely due to me drag racing on 28" tires at the track all the time, so he said before he could start the work he had to test drive my truck with his snap on computer hooked up to monitor the trans line pressures and such, i said sure no problem.. he comes back 20 minutes later grinning and said, ain't nuthin wrong with that transmission why the hell you want to put a stall in it, i tell him it is fine on the street cause you don't get traction, but on the track with slicks it bogs below 20mph horrendously.. so he goes and starts to take apart my truck, 3 hrs later he comes in and says "them idiots sent you the wrong converter!!" man was i pissed, i could see he was as well.. so i called ipt *****ed at them for 15 minutes and without even asking they agreed to refund most of my money back and they would have a converter there by wed. morning.. so i guess i'll be without my truck for a few days, butatleast this company was willing to accept thier mistakes and do something about it, they even said they would pay for a rental car since i'll be without a truck for 2 days, not going to get one though a friend from work just lives a mile from my house..
wish i could push fast forward on my life till wed.. i want my damn truck back..

Id be very pissed if I was you, but atleast you got your money back and your converter, but one question might be stupid but what did you buy and what does it do?

Hope this clears it up.
On the foot brake the converter controls how high of a RPM you can stall up to before the tires start spinning, like a burnout. With the motor up on the converter, I should stall around 3200-3400 on the brake, but when you release the brake and mash the gas the converter will climb, flash for spilt second, to a higher rpm before the truck moves, around 3600-3800, it will not fall below the flash rpm until it is time to shift. It will instantly put me closer to max torque of 4200-4300 rpms.. so instead of having to wait 3 seconds to get to 4,000 rpm's it's take maybe 1/2 a second now and will drop my 60' nicely most people see a 4/10th e.t. drop just by adding this alone after cams cause it moves the powerband so drastically

Congrats, and at the same time......sorry dude. Just try not to think about it any today or tonight. Sounds like you are on to something nice here. Definitely want to see your times after you get it in and some runs on it.
One question, what made you go with IPT vs. Level 10?
