Arrow Blinglights Intake???

whats the deal with this thing??
would it be any good?
i know its much cheaper than others out there but they claim to be just as good.
what do you all think????
I know it couldnt be as good at the big name intakes but would it be worth $60 to give a 5-10 housrpower boost and get the cool "swoosh" sound under the hood?????

link to product...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m32

if link won't work just search ebay.com auction number 180256789115

Here's some stuff from the auction:

BlingLights manufactures its intakes from mandrel-bent, lightweight aircraft aluminum with a powder coated carbon-black finish, Carbon Fiber Reusable Open Top Fabric Filter and Installation Instructions. BlingLights Short Ram intake systems deliver the best performance, value and ease of installation than any other short inlet intake. Our Short Ram intakes install easily under the hood.

How Does It Work? When you bolt-on a BlingLights intake, you will notice the difference the next time you drive your vehicle. Our BlingLights Intake Kits are a great way and in many cases the only way to maximize airflow and engine performance. They will replace the factory air box providing both High-Flow air filter technology and a larger air filter size. This winning combination will increase horsepower and sound great too.

BlingLights Intake Kits will free your car from the size restriction that comes with the factory air box. These economical kits can take a variety of different forms based on vehicle characteristics and available space under the hood. Each kit is designed to provide power throughout the RPM range. BlingLights intakes take advantage of the added airflow provided by an oversized air filter released from the restrictive factory air box.

These kits bring engine airflow out of the factory box by providing a large size open-air conical High-Flow Air Filter. The extra surface area of these open-air air filters provide even more airflow at lower restriction than a name brand replacement filter which is always limited to the size of the factory air box. The larger air filter also captures and holds more dirt increasing its service life before a cleaning is required. The filter is then either directly attached to the engine carburetor or throttle body or indirectly through a tube assembly running from the filter to the engine. All adaptors are made from high quality materials.

Re: Blinglights Intake???

Not sure if the picture is showing the model that would fit the Titan but if so I do not see how that intake would fit. Probably just a picture for illustration purposes but with an EBay auction I would make sure. There is also no heat shield so I believe it would work but it would also let in a lot of hot air. You might think about the stock air box mod that some people are doing (search the forums). It would be cheaper and I would at least try it first before I purchased something like this. Just my opinion though. Good luck and hope it works if you do decide to try it.

Re: Blinglights Intake???

yeah this is just a stock photo.
i sent the auction person a ? asking if they have pic of it installed in the titan.

i have already done the stock airbox mod and dont really notice a difference in sound or hp. did however notice a difference when i got the 2* timing advance done.

Re: Blinglights Intake???

The moneymaker is the filter itself....

http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/airfilter/airtest1.htm

The good ones are not cheap and they don't chince on the manufacturing or the materials... Generic ones do... You get what you pay for.... IMO.
