Re: stillen supercharger

Found this on ebay Stillen Supercharger Infiniti QX56 Nissan Armada Titan :eBay Motors (item 180416248514 end time Oct-15-09 15:28:30 PDT) 4,995 USED??????????? I love this instructions on ebay.............................With your payment, I need your complete stock setup in return - which includes everything you remove to install this kit. This involves the engine cover, intake plenum, a couple of brackets, some vacuum lines, and your stock fuel pump etc etc. Please verify with your offer that you are including all of the parts I need to get back to 100% stock.

This would be much easier if we could meet in Tulsa, Kansas City, Dallas or Austin and we could have a local shop there do the swap.

If you cannot make it to any of these places, please plan on your vehicle being down for at least 1 week to allow for shipping. I will need all your stock parts shipped to me, and once I put your stock parts on I will ship you the entire supercharger kit including headers and exhaust back to you.

I can provide video of the supercharger if you need it.

This complete kit new from Stillen is about $6,600.

Please email me if you have any questions

Re: stillen supercharger

That's interesting.... That must be the one my brother was telling me about. From reading that ad, the seller doesn't seem to be the sharpest of the pack.

Re: stillen supercharger

Less than 3 years on a new vehicle, only 46,000 miles-5 superchargers, 4 replacement intercoolers, removed from my vehicle today for the 10 and final time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been about as patient as I can be.
I must say the new growl from this V-8 breathing naturally is WAY better than the little "kitty" wine from the motor being force fed. Power comes on a little slower, takes a bit more pedal to get her moving through the upper end, but not terribly so. I was afraid she would be a dog after removing the blower, however that's not the case. Now it's gotta get sent back to Stillen for repair, then I'm selling this thing. I'm thinking this '09 manifold is helping a bit. I don't remember my truck growling like this before I had the blower installed. She still pulls plenty hard too!!!

Re: stillen supercharger

My dealership says 5.5 hours for install of cams, does that sound about right?

yep that is right.. as long as none of your lifters are out of spec.. if they are out of spec time could easily double.. but 400-600 in labor to install cams is definatly worth it.. will gain tremendous amount of power past 4500 rpms

Re: stillen supercharger

Sorry I didn't get in on this one earlier. I have a boat with a 454 Mag that I have a Whipplecharger on. The Whipplecharger is great BUT the folks who installed it (they have done tons of them) were pretty sloppy. I had it done 7 years ago. I had the engine rebuilt with heavy duty parts (new cam, roller rockers.....et all.....) 5 years ago to make the engine as bullet proof as I could. I have been chasing problems since (related to the sloppy install as opposed to the charger itself.....to be clear....Whipple did not do the install and have always been great to work with). The bad news is that I lost my engine on the last day of my trip to the lake this fall. I suspect it will tie back to some of the sloppy work that was done on the engine when I had it rebuilt. So....after inveting $20K or so initially I get to invest another $17K or so more just so I can use my boat again......and hope things are done right this time. If anyone asked I would say "forget the supercharger" unless you like to mess with things non-stop. Life is never the same once you start messin.

If you are bent on putting a SC on your engine I would look at Whipple. They have consistantly been very good to work with and have never given me the run around on anything.
