I have a 7" CST lift and 35/12.5/18 Toyo MT's on XD Diesels (Not sure what the offset or backspacing is). My tires rubbed when turning all the way and hitting even a small bump. If you get your offset a little too wide you will have to do the PWM (Not that big of a deal) or go my route and put fiberglass fenders on which completely takes care of your problem even if you run 37's. Also if you get a Sway-A-Way or Radflo coilover from PRG you can crank the preload up and gain up to 2" of clearance.
How much room do you have left when turned full left or right?
Not much at all its very close, and would rub very little before i got my coilovers. At full lock i have maybe an 1" between my pinch weld and tire. This measurement was true for my stage 1 lift and is still the same with my sway aways. the only differance is the sway aways are stiffer keeping it from rubbing at full lock offroad unlike my stock coilovers. But the only time it would rub is offroad, i didnt have a problem over speed bumps are anything like that even when trying to make it rub.

I have been thinking about new wheels as I am still on the factory off-road wheels and feel they aren't quite wide enough for a 12.5 tire.... I don't want to run into the rubbing issue as I want to go taller than 35"

Your factory rims are actually the best bet for you. they are plenty wide enough for 12.5 tires. all you need is an 8" rim. your factory rims have more bs to keep the tire tucked in the fender well.

All you guys telling him he will get no rub with 35x12.5 tires really need to give him your rim and tire specs. Otherwise he'll be rubbing.

I think running the the stock mudflap and having ZERO rubbing with 35's is next to impossible.
Just m opinion though.

If you re read my post it says i only rubbed at full lock offraod. This means no rubbing at all onroad. And when i mean offraod i mean front tires coming completely off the ground and landing on the full weight of the truck. Hardly a need to do the PWM
This is coming from someone who doesnt even have a 6" lift. Oh and if you re read my post i never once said that it was impossible to rub buddy. I said you dont need a PWM to fit 35" tires on a 6" lift.

I thought the Off-Road wheels were 7.5" wide? Almost every tire maker recommends 8.5-11.0" wheels..... I've feathered the edges on my 12.50's pretty good....
