you liking it or what?

The only gains you are going to get is a little cooler air in your intake. On a colder night it fills like it gives a little more kick and at higher speed like on the freeway it feels like their is not as much lag. Like its not starving for air at all. Hope that helps.

its helping alright...lol...was it worth it?

i'll probably end up doing it just for the heck of it, ill post the pics and updates later on

Well the main reason I did it was because I wanted to do something to the and I had everything in my shed to do it so... I think it was worth it for the pure fact that after driving around for like an hour or so when I touched the intake tube it was not hot like it use to be.

Have fun and Even if you cant feel a diff for some reason at least it gave you time to work on/bond with your truck.

K well i went to home depot and just bought some 4in Irrigation tubing and two 4in rubber couplings and a dremel all for 60 bucks. the dremel being the most expensive and i have nothing else to do today, so i'm going to see how this ram air mod works out and i will post pics before and after.

I got the cortex programmer on the way so i will do some data logging when it comes in and see how well everything works.

this is just an idea i had, instead of using a circular head for the induction, im thinking of using a rectangular piece for more surface area, thats just my thoughts, hope they help

two tenths for just a little hard work sounds good to me plus all the benefits of a regular CAI...i can't wait to install..."idhitit2:

You should add a Velocity Stack to the front. Go to airaid.com :read: and look up the UBI section, it allows you to custom build your intake, you could order a few section and couplers to really make it look custom. Just got paid and bought a couple of pieces. Of course price varies.:teethmast:teethmast:teethmast Can't wait to for my order.

just checked it out,is it possible to move up to the 4in tube and has anyone done it

#22 ·
what size is the stock tube anyhow?

#23 ·
i'm using the 4in tube, i will get my pics posted up soon, but it looks just like rb's setup. The only thing i didn't like about mine is having to cut out a whole to get the piping as close to the grille as possible. I want modify mine some more and possibly add a velocity stack.

with the factory grill its hard to get direct air flow, guess its time to order the k2motor black vertical grill.

i'll be keeping the factory grill for right now...in fact i want to do the badgeless grill mod...i like the factory grill the most...im just expanding the surface area of the induction hole to possibly gain greater air flow.

So it is 4in pipe. 2 45 degree pices. Also i used 2 4in to S&D (sewer and drain) on the ends of the 45's to add length to for it to site into the box and out the fan shroud piece you cut the whole in. I used a 4.5in whole saw.. You will need PVC glue if you use PVC pipe or if you use ABS(the black pipe) you will need ABS glue. That is all the tools and material I can think of that you will need. Unless you use a rubber connector then make sure it has two hose clamps on it. I kinda put it all together in the store to get an idea of what it would look like. Yes I did remove the washer fluid reservoir. You can buy a smaller one and relocate if you want to still have one. If you do a search for ram air mod you will find that some people did it a little different than I did so you may want to see some of the other ways IDK. if you have anymore Q's just let me know. Have fun modding.
