Re: 2 Banks Mufflers with True Duals!!!!!

peytons, your 08 right? i removed my secondary cats and left the 02 sensors where they are. the sensors are before the secondary cats, so it shouldnt affect them. unless for some reason your sensors are after the cats?

Re: 2 Banks Mufflers with True Duals!!!!!

Do NOT run one out the side and one dumped. It will sound like ***. The one out the side will sound like half a v8. The one dumped will give you the same sound inside. Either dump them both or run both out the side.

Re: 2 Banks Mufflers with True Duals!!!!!

I too recommend some sort of symmetry to your exhaust exit.

Out the back seems the easiest with two massive tips-oof.

This is my truck with Banks, JBA Headers, Stillen b-pipes, Dynatech Powercats, and UpRev at Port Harbor Nissan. 2.5" to the Banks.

Re: 2 Banks Mufflers with True Duals!!!!!

what if each muffler isn't at the same location, one is farther back on the pipes than the other. Would that effect sound?

That sounds good! Its loud but still sounds clean and not raspy.

Re: 2 Banks Mufflers with True Duals!!!!!

Sounds great! Better than my dual 40 series. I wonder how much of the sound difference is from the headers and cats?

Re: 2 Banks Mufflers with True Duals!!!!!

are the stock pipes 2 1/4 and then when they hit the y-pipe go to 2.5? I have to measure the diameter and find out. typically, you want the volume to increase as you combine the 2 pipes. I would not do true duals unless you install a balancer somewhere.

if the mufflers are close, then no. If there is a lot of seperation (say more than a foot of pipe length) then there could be some sound difference, but if they are both run straight out the back, I doubt anyone would notice.
