Post Hand held Programmers with AFR readings

This thread is to only see who all would be interested in seeing a handheld programmer do the following, AFR readings & AFR target adjustments?

Currently the new upcoming programmers have the ability to monitor almost everything except for AFRs.

This is only a poll to see the interest. We all know if the hand held programmers had the ability to read AFRs and make target adjustments to the AFRs then they would sale a lot more. Not everyone wants to pay 900.00 bucks but they would pay 450.00.

Bullydog GT is an example. The BDGT will monitor just about everything except AFRs. I was a bit perplexed on this after reading what all it can do. If I’m mistaken then correct me.

I also spoke with Bullydog yesterday in the development dept and we walked through this. The fact is, it comes down to demand. If there was enough demand then Bullydog would look into adding the AFR readings into the software and see if target AFR gains could be adjusted as well.

Update for BullyDog:
There are two new gentlemen that are driving the R&D department. They are currently taking the next top 10 suggestions to add to the BDGT future software updates. The more folks that call and request the better the odds are of getting in. If you are interested please play the roll by calling in and letting them know.

BullyDog:
866-285-5936 option 2
You want customer service, not sales and not support. Explain to them you would like to see the ability to monitor AFRs and make target adjustments on the AFR by .25 increments.

Bully Dog - Contact Us - Contact Us for any Bully Dog question that you have.

~~~~~~~~
I would like to see a feature request implemented in the future for the Bullydog Powerpup & GT. Its my understanding Bullydog is taking the 10 top suggestion and the most request would be implemented in a future software update.
The Nissan Titan community would like to see the following:
- A/F Ratio Monitoring(Air Fuel Ratio)
- A/F Ratio Target Gain Adjustments by +/- .25 increments
By Federal law they cannot provide a programmer like that.
LAYER - I say HELL yeah I'd buy it. I've been putting that on their threads ever since I bought my BDPP...
Do some research.
You can buy software to adjust the AFR's, because you are modifying it yourself.
Hand helds modify for you, and by law cannot adjust AFR's, as they could be held liable.
It violates federal emissions laws.
So I'll STFU now...
Re: Handhelp Programmers with AFR readings
I would ask BBomar a question but he's banned again.
But, if it violates emission laws then how does Uprev get away with it on the tuner software.. No logic at all.
Re: Handhelp Programmers with AFR readings
I have a Superchips Flashpaq and it can read and datalog the lambda readings via the OBDII connection. For a gas engine AFR = lambda * 14.7, of course I have no way to make adjustments.
I'm just like your avatar at your statement. If that was the case, you wouldn't be able to do any of the cool sh!t that programmers and tuners can. what, do you think they care about how to dial in your fuel settings, than a programmer that will allow your truck unlimited top speed? I think not.
Re: Handhelp Programmers with AFR readings
I vote yes, this would help many people who aren't wanting to spend all the money for custom tuning, but also want to make sure they are safe with their mods, (such as headers). Some trucks will run fine with a handheld and mods and some won't. So I think it would be of great benefit to the Titan community to add this to their programming. No more guessing if your running dangerously lean or super rich after a mod. Also, if your running fine then no need to burn the extra money for custom tuning
Please explain...
A poll is posted for asking what people want.
He has spoken with the mfg. and they say it could be done.
Lots of Mods are made available "for off road use only".
Maybe an explanation of what the current handhelds are or are not doing, would make for a more reasonable response.
The poll is currently 12 to 2 in favor of AFR Target adjustment.
Sorry, I'm too lazy and tired to explain myself. Basically, you never want to give someone enough rope to hang themselves on.
Re: Handhelp Programmers with AFR readings
Then why are you developing free ECU programing software for the Titan community?
