On friday i got my banks true dual installed. 2.25" piping all the way into magnaflow x-pipe, to the mufflers exitted before the passenger rear tire. Now one would think this would be a loud setup, false. For some reason its damn near silent. Not really what I'm looking for. I bought both mufflers used so could it be they are just burnt out? Would it sound like crap if that was the case? Or could it be because I have 4 cats? I'm a 2004 LE KC 4x4. Just wondering cause I have an appointment in 45 minutes with a muffler shop and I just need these questions answered so I can make up my mind to stick with these or get magnaflow 18's swapped in.
remove the cats will make it alil louder. try dumping it under before the rear axle. a burnt muffler will still be loud just won't sound as good. are you runnin 3" tailpipes ?? if you're not, theres your answer. the bigger the exit pipe, the deeper and louder the sound.
My single banks is pretty loud I think. Not as loud as my old spintech but my banks sounds awsome. I do have my secondary cats removed. I think if it was burnt it would sound like crap

a good muff shop should beable to give you those answers. tell him you want to get the most sound out of this system what do i do.
i think removing the tips and 3" turndowns (no tips) dumped before the rear axle is gonna give you the max sound.
well i took it to midas and they said i was missing two exhaust gaskets and was leaking right after each secondary cat. I had them put new ones in and it sounds a lot better, still not very loud but I think I'm going to remove my secondary cats and get a whole new b-pipe @ 2.25", now the killer is trying to find a shop willing to do it.... haha

Give it a few days. The sound can change. Don't ask me why but it seemed like that when I put mine in.

What flowmaster do you have? are you talking about just the muffler? I am looking for a tight tone from my truck and have no clue what to look for. I was looking into just adding a Flowmaster Muffler to see what that would do, and take it from there.
you know im not sure witch flowmaster was installed on my t .. i just wanted sound at the time... but it sounds nice and im into drag races not with my t though so i love loud....

to all the guys getting flowmasters on stock pipes, I have that and am switching to the Borla XS, I'd look into it, if u buy it at summit it's only $99 which isn't much more than the flowmaster and will outlast it since it's stainless and is a better flow design being that it's a straight thru and the flowmaster is baffled, so you'll get more power. my flowmaster is cracking and I'm looking for more performance than sound now thus the change. just something to consider. cheapest at this place, but I'm not sure how they are, never dealt with them Wicked Nicky exhaust. The only site you will ever need for low prices on high performance exhaust systems and more.
here's a sound clip of a borla from another member who got it from burtm an the video not the truck/exhaust
