Need Input - should I or should I not?

I have access to some chrome body molding for my truck. I have "doctored" a picture to show the chrome molding (not the best, but you get an idea).

What do you think... should I change to the chrome molding or leave the black factory molding on the doors?

IMO I would leave it how it is, becuase i've seen so many cars, trucks, vans with those imitation chrome moldings, linings, or whatever you call it and it just makes the vehicle look cheap. just my 2cents.

The black is better with the rest of the truck and the step rails on her.

I also have a Galaxy Black CC. I think the chrome is a little out of sinc with the factory step bars.

I agree with overdose it will make your truck look like a cheap POS. But if you like the PepBoys look go for it.

I vote, "LEAVE AS IS" too.....chrome wheels on the contrary would be an entirely different story. No "PEPBOY" spinner hubs either....

Tough Call. I think if you decided to do it, the chrome would have to really look like it was not an aftermarket idea. IE: the big thing is will it match the factory chrome handles, mirrors, and grille?

The other thing is you may get way too addicted to chrome. I had a brand new Jeep Wrangler back in 95 and decided to add some chrome nerfs. Then I added a Chrome bumper. Pretty soon it was covered in diamond plate and everything down to the gas cap cover and window latches were chrome. It looked pretty sweet for a monster offroader, but gawdy and a fortune for a road vehicle.

Black and Chrome could look pretty good really, but you would need more than just some extra molding to get that chrome/black balance; making it even more difficult to all look like the same chrome versus a pepboys special.

Cheers,
Load

Thanks for the input guys! I had my doubts about the look of the chrome and you guys have convinced me to keep the factory molding on the truck.

Thanks again!

leave it! I'm a chrome hater though, take my 'antichromism' lightly. Obviously an XE owner here!
