TITAN's first trip to the beach

I took the TITAN 4x4 out on the beach at Assateague Island on the Maryland shore for the first time. It performed well in the sand except for the annoying low tire pressure warning after I took the tires down to 15psi but that stopped after a couple times. I didn't see any other TITANs out there, only a Pathfinder and lots of Dodge Rams, Jeeps, etc.

Glad you had fun. Your dog blends into the sand pretty well.

I didn't know you could ride on the beach up there, but since I just bought a years pass at Assateague I will probably stay down there. Once it warms up I'll be going back with my Honda Aquatrax F-12X Turbo and hitting the bay and the ocean.

Anyone that's not familiar with Assateague Island, it's known for its wild horses as seen in the picture.......they walk right up to the campsites.

LOL, I'm glad you reposted, I was straining my eyes looking for those ponies.
I think "Floyd" can see them though.

Too bad you beach runners aren't in Washington State. We have the longest beach in the nation, about 20 miles I'm told. You can drive on it as well but must pay attention to the tides as Titans won't float well enough to survive a tidal change here

A friend of mine (who lives in MD) usually gets an Assateague pass (cheaper for him). A DE pass is $50/year for a resident and $100/year for out of state. And of course you have to have gear - spare, tire gauge, jack, strap, board, fishin poles, bait, etc... The fishin and scenery is probably better in Assateague though...

Was at Long Beach (in washington state, not California) years ago - didn't get to drive it or anything since the rental car probably wouldn't have done very well, plus the weather was the pits (coming across from Astoria I was leary about being on the bridge into Washington state - if you've done the bridge before you'll know what I mean). I'll be back up in the NW in a week or so bringing my fathers remains back to Portland, but I doubt I'll be able to get up to Long Beach....want to get up to St Helens, but who knows if that'll even be possible. I'll be happy just to be able to get out to the Oregon coast, since my father rqstd some of his ashes be strewn in Manzanita/Rockaway Beach (near Haystack Rock from the movie The Goonies)

Assateague is where the horses swim across the bay every year right

Chincoteague....

Assateague is where the horses swim across the bay every year right[/quote]

They swim across a small channel (about a 3 minute swim) from Assateague to Chincoteague islands.
