Trip to Hungry Valley OHV Park - Pics!!!!
Went to a offroad driving clinic today up at the Hungry Valley OHV Park about 50 miles North of Los Angeles. Excellent, all day class put on by Badlands Offroading group and their instructors. We had seven vehicles, three of which were bone stock.
I was amazed at where they took us and the things we did and this was the beginner class!!! My favorite pic of the day is the silver Tacoma pulling up out of the wash scraping both the front and back. He was balsy, particularly since it was a brand new truck. He knew what he was getting into though and the instructors did a great job of explaining each obstacle and/or task and going over the risks, etc. Each task was voluntary and you could go around if you wanted. None of us did and him, I and both Rubicon Jeeps had our electrical connectors for our tow packages bent up when exiting ditches. Mine bent pretty good but is still connected. I'm going to leave it where it is as it is now positioned where it won't drag.
Our trucks have great approach angles when lifted 6", a little less of a departure angle, but they still do really well.
That's me with the red Titan (only Titan there) going up that 30 degree hill. Heck of a lot of fun.
We aired down to 15 psi for the day and never had to use lockers and noone got stuck. Great fun!!!!
Regards,
John
