The driver/"owner" didn't care about the body damage, it'll get fixed and eventually have body protection. At least, that's what the driver/owner says later in that thread.

i dunno maybe im getting older or something but what is the point of crawling rocks? why don't they go around,lol i damn sure wouldnt be putting huge holes in my door

Soooo...why do you mod your truck to go fast? In a straight line?
Chances are, it's because you enjoy the challenge. Same thing with rock crawlers, we enjoy the challenge.
For me, the challenge was picking the right line to make it over/through places the first time, without getting stuck and without body damage. Needless to say, I pissed a lot of people off with those skills, though the people that got annoyed were mainly the ones that believed HP and big tires are what get you through the trail when it's actually about 80% driver skill.
To each his own. I don't see the point in laying frame or 22" wheels or drag racing FWD imports (Honda Civics, etc), but that doesn't mean there's anything right or wrong, good or bad about the sport.
