Can you explain how you painted the wheels...I like the look. Looks like a flat or satin paint, not glossy. Is that just the camera?

i concur! i think i may just do this to my XE steelies before i go out and blow a wad of cash on some wheels. i love the look of those black wheels! so what would i need to do to do the same to my wheels?
1. Sandpaper? what grit?
2. Paint?
3. is it possible to do with the tires on?
i would like to know exactly what you used and how you did it? thanks man, great looking wheels!

Re: Finally a few decent pics.
Well guys you seriously made my day!! You guys are the coolest, thanks for the awsome remarks. Yah Falcon Feild in Mesa, Arizona, and up by my uncles ranch also in Mesa by the big Oak... To explain the easiest route on how-to-paint... First Clean you rims very well, You dont have to take your tires off thankfully if you have a steady hand, and masking skills haha. Just Sand evenly with 320-grit... Then clean them thoroughly with a light chemical. Since our rims are aluminum you have to be gentle when sanding. When your all cleaned up, and masked off.... Just start applying even coats of "duplicolor" rims paint( Silver, Flat Black, Etc.). Give about an hour 30min. between each coat so you have a tough base. Then once your all done with about 2-3 coats just lettum dry and remount on your truck!... I honestly love the look, I am a lil cheap so buying 1000$ rims and tires hasn't been an option yet. For supplies guys, you can go to AutoZone and find the 320 grit sandpaper.. The cans of Dupli Color Rim paint, and your good to go. It cost me about 40$, and took around 5 hours, but if your pro painter, you could acheive it faster.

Re: Finally a few decent pics.
1.Leave tires on
2.Clean surface
3.Sand evenly, and gentel with 320 grit
4.Spray DupliColor Rim Paint (AutoZone) 1hr. between each coat. I used a plastic cutting sheet for a guide, just slid it in between the tire and rim, there just enough space.
5.Allow to dry for about 1 hr 30min after final coat
6.Mount back on your rig, and your in the home stretch.
7.Just add a lil armor all to the exterior tire, and your set. The paint completely cures in 3 days, so just be a lil easy with it, I would wash the truck, or go muddin until after that grace period. But after 3 days your seriously gunna be impressed with the durability. I have about 1k miles so far, and not a chip! and I wash my truck religously haha. Soo have fun, en e more questions feel free to message me.!
