Latest Pics of my Truck

Here's the latest pics with the lights installed on the roof rack. Took a LOT of time to carefully run the wires down through the A arm under the dash where I could wire them all up. Had to drill a hole in one of the landing pads for the roof rack and another in the fire wall to run the 10 gauge wires through to the battery. All in all it came out great!!!

Pics also show new Warn winch which replaces my MileMarker one that was malfunctioning.

Hope you like!!!

Regards,

John

Re: Latest Pics of my Truck

Thanks for the compliments. Next mods are a dual battery setup and a CB w/antennae for use when offroading. Still wrestling with where to mount the second battery. May have to settle for inside the bed as I'm having trouble finding a suitable place up under the truck where it will fit and not get damaged while offroading.

Also, I haven't decided where to mount the antennae for a CB. On top the roof rack would work, but it would be sticking WAY up there and would likely get ripped off by low hanging tree branches, etc.

Work continues.

Re: Latest Pics of my Truck

Would the battery fit in the side compartment in the bed?

CB you could mount it inside the bed or on the bed rail?

Just my $.02

Re: Latest Pics of my Truck

Yellowmantis, yeah, it would likely fit in the side compartment, but I'm afraid it would fall through the bottom. That compartment is just a plastic thing and isn't fastened to the truck very well.

I may just wind up putting it in the bed under the Retrax canister. Trouble with this is it eats up some more bed space. Now that I have the roof rack though, I probably have plenty of storage space.

We should go offroading again some time soon. There's a few trails I'd like to hit.

Regards,

John

I'm sure with your fabrication skills you could figure out a way to beef the compartment up.

I am trying to set something up for the end of next month to go off roading, let me know if that's good for you. Hopefully Charles will be a little more careful while behind the wheel this time.
