Image file is too large?!?

I've seen this type of post all over the forums and thought I'd try and help...
If you are having problems loading your pictures b/c they are too big this thread might help...

If you have a windows operating system the easiest way to resize a picture using standard software is to open the picture in paint.

To do this:

-right click on the picture
-hold the curser over "open with"
-select "Paint"

Now paint will open with your picture. To resize:

-select "image" on the upper left tool bar
-select "Stretch and Skew"
-change the top %'s to 50 and this will bring your picture to half it's size.

If image file is still too large to load, adjust again. Here are some attachments of me doing this process...

Nice writeup.

image resizer power tool is much easier to use...but this works too and works "out of the box". It's too bad microsoft doesn't just include powertools in XP.

exactly... I 100% agree it isn't the easiest... but I figured paint is the one program that everyone already has... (windows OS users).
