I Got A Ticket For Mud Bogging!

well, i went to folsom lake today, i guess its a CA sate park and me and my friends went wheelin. got stuck, have some pics but will post later, and i though it was going to be a good trip. well i got unstuck, but when leaving the park i went through a puddle of mud, literally, and a ranger was right their. he gave me a ticket for mud boggin, has anyone got one of these tickets and if so how much are they?

offroading in a state park if not posted for off road travel iam thinking you were not on a posted trail if not ouch! dont want to freak ya out but it can be from $250--$5000 fine my bud got one last oct. his was $2,500 bucks!!

It depends on what he wrote you for. If it was for "destruction of habitat" you are going to bleed money. . .

Don't they usually write the fine on the ticket?

Or is that just for little speeding tickets?

go out and take some pix of the site postings etc.or lack thear of if you can get some proof that will help your case do it! dont just roll over and pay the ticket go to cort the judge my feel sorry for you dont just blow it off cuz thay may want to just put the screws to ya!

take it to court and tell him the ranger was in the way and u didnt see the mud. or when you get it write a letter to the "presiding Judge" and beg him to lower the amount. tell him u have a minimum wage job and are in school if you are. thats worked many times for me. just act sincier and like he is god. they eat that up. BTW, i know many rangers are just cops that failed to pass the test. be carefull somtimes when you get way out there the rangers are a little crazy because they drive around alone everyday with not much social interaction. I always look to see if they have a gun too! i dont want to be buried in the middle of nowhere cause i hurt his feelings!

Haha i know its sad but it does. Well not everyday but only if i go to the dessert to ride. I think i just need to get out of Cali. Too many hippies taking over and shuting down all our offroad riding area's. They build houses right next door to out MX tracks and then after they complain about the noise. Take it to court and hope the ranger doesn't show up. If he does, throw yourself on the mercy of the court and beg forgiveness.

JEEEZ man, 5 grand for muddin?? that's psycho. i actually went muddin' today in a posted "no motorized vehicles" area. glad i didn't get caught. i'm gonna go some more tomorrow and get REAL dirty. ...think i'll choose a different place tho. that's the beauty of ID tho~lots of farmers fields to choose from! they're pretty cool about it, so long as you don't mess up any crop.

You have to go to court on this one... the fine will be less. In other words do pay the bail amount its going to be way high! Post up the ticket... keep your name and numbers off and we can help you a lot more...
