Talking Titan And Ram Go Mudding

This past Sunday me and some friends went out to a rock quarry to shoot some guns. One of my buddies works there and mentioned that there is some good mud for wheelin up in the hills. We had three trucks there: my Titan, my best friends 05 Dodge Ram 1500, and a friend of a friends 07 Dodge Ram big horn addition. The guy with the 07 was to sissy to get his new truck dirty. My friend and I decided to go and get our trucks a good workout. My friend that works at the quarry said that he guarantees that neither of us will make it more than 10 feet from the starting point. He said if we get stuck, no worries because they have plenty of tractors and toys to get us out.
My friend in the 05 Ram goes first and gets stuck once his tires enter the nasty muck. He begged us not to take pictures because he was so embarrassed about his 3 foot journey. The Titan on the other hand; what can I say.. Bad A$$! I made it through about 50 yards of the area and finally sank in the last 15 feet of mud (more like quick sand). I would have made it but I slowed way down because it was a big hump and I did not want to land on the nose of my truck. If I would have had momentum, I would have made it all the way through the entire area. I managed to get to an area that not even the huge CAT's could get to me. They kept sinking and spinning there tires. Eventually they had to try and scoop out a new road to get to me. The mud was still to soft and we finally had to use about 100 feet of cable to reach my truck from the CAT.
Everyone was blown away by how good the Titan did in the mud. The Nitto Mud Grapplers are some serious mud tires. Several of the die hard rednecks working out there said that the Titan is way meaner than they thought. I have some small vids I will post once I get them from my friends camera. Here are some shots of the area I got stuck in, as well as the CAT trying to get to me, and of both trucks after all was done. Enjoy

Re: Titan And Ram Go Mudding

We both paid the price for all the fun we had. On the way home my friends Ram starting cutting out and running really crappy. Once we got it home, he shut it off and it would not start back up. It acts like the battery is completely dead, but it had a full charge. We cleaned all connections, and tested everything we could think of. Same thing, nothing, just dead.
I on the other hand, woke up to a flat tire, so I took it down to be repaired. They called me back and said that the flat was caused by a hole in my wheel and not the tire. Sure enough, I went down there and I have 3 penny size holes punched on the inside of my wheel. They assume that something got lodged between my caliper and wheel and once I stomped on it, the rock or whatever punched through it. They said whatever caused it had to have a lot of force because the wheels are so thick. I checked my truck out to make sure nothing came off to cause this, and the truck is just fine. The wheel was my passenger side front, the wheel that was stuck the most. Im pretty sure is was a big jagged rock that did it. Oh well, all work and no play makes Jack a very dull boy right!

Re: Titan And Ram Go Mudding

Well I will say you stuck it. Was the dodge a 2wd? Looked like some street tires on it from the pics, and I thought that the 4wd version Ram had different wheels?

It's a 4x4. Not sure about his wheels though. I am pretty sure the truck came with those on it.
