20x8.5? need fast help

The wheel guy is calling me back any minute and I need some help. They are backordered on the 20x10's but they have the 20x8.5 in stock. Does anyone have 20x8.5 on 35" tires and have pictures? Or do you know if an 8.5" wide rim would look too small on a 35" tire?

Fast answers greatly appreciated!!

Re: 20x8.5? need fast help

it really depends on how much lift u have. 10 inch width is really wide and u will have rubbing issues. i wouldnt go more than 9 inches. 8.5 is about perfect.
i run 8 on 285/70/17 mohaves wheels and i have 4 inch performance pakage.any wider wheel i will rub!!!!.
i wish i could go 9 but not w/ my setup.
good luck.

Re: 20x8.5? need fast help

7" lift on it. But the reason I did go with the 8.5" is because I didn't want to rub when offroading.

Re: 20x8.5? need fast help

grrr I called the guy and he told me he would order the 20x8.5's but he won't install them. He said they will rub on the inside and he won't replace them.

Guess I'm getting 18's now.

I should of posted this all in the wheels section. Sorry!

Sound like you just need to do the pinch weld mod.

Yea, I will be doing the pinch weld. No worries, not a big deal.

I went ahead and got 20x10 moto metal 951's.

Re: 20x8.5? need fast help

Let us know if you have rubbing issues when you get them on. I am looking at the 20x10 kmc rockstars and was told on here they wouldn't work with my 6 inch pro comp lift. What tire setup are you going to run?

I'm running a 35" toyo open country m/t

I was looking at the rockstars as well until I called 4wheelparts and they told me that they are backordered for 120 days. No way I am waiting 4 months.

They told me the same thing back when I first was looking to get my weld dune 6 wheels. I went to a local shop and had them in and on in 3 weeks.

Yea I forgot to mention the local wheel guy said 1 month but I can't stand his service so that's when I asked 4wheelparts.

I have been to a truck shop and stereo shop around here that I will never use again because of crappy service.

It's the worst when the service is bad. I'd rather pay 10%-15% more on any product just to get better service.

I should have sucked it up and paid the extra money when I had my stereo installed. Now I know and will shop around even more the next time I have something installed.
