Titan Pictures & Media Post
Post pictures, media, etc. about the Titan that you find in here. Also -- Please see the Nissan Titan Photo Gallery - All users have access:!
It does make the Titan look small, but it's not nearly as big as some others tow on this site. If you search for the "What do you tow" thread, there are some really impressive boats in there.
I've never had any problem pulling it from any ramps. I've actually traded the Titan in the photo for an '06 Armada and haven't had any trouble with it either. As Demondw3 suggested, manually shifting to 1 and slowly applying the gas until it creeps out of the water has worked well. I've had a couple of places with loose gravel, sand, or broken pavement that I put it in 4lo just to be safe, but I don't know that it was necessary.
Aside from the ramps, the Titan towed our Chap up and down the mountains to Lake Powell, across the Rocky Mountains in our last move, and through Chicago in rush hour during a torrential thunderstorm (far worse on the nerves than the mountains). We never forgot the boat was there, but we also never had an issue with accelerating or stopping (after the 04 brake fix).
Go find yourselves a nice boat and start enjoying!

Hey Racefan,..... how do you like that Deckboat? That is what we have our eyes open for. Looking for a Searay Sundeck year 2000+, 21' plus. Or a Rinker Captiva 22' +. In fact, the big reason for my new Titan is to prep for the boat.
I like the idea of the deck boat for the space for the kids and their friends, as well as our friends for adult night, airshow, 4th of July, local crab house, tubing, wake boarding, ect. The porta-potti is the selling point for me. I don't care to hear my wife or daughter complain about not having a toilet.

You like it?
yes i wouldn't buy any other type of boat after having a deck boat. my wife had to have a bathroom and it's great not to have load and unload all your stuff each time you go out. we just float out in the lake, no need to go to a cove or beach it. plenty of room. i'm very happy with this boat. It's a starcraft aurora 2015 and it's 20.5 ft long with a 3ft swim platform.

Ditto. I'm also looking in the 24' range. I was also wondering about getting something like that up and out of the water......
Funny you should say that - over the summer while relaxing at the local beach bar we were watching the boat ramp (always a source of amusement.)
These guys pulled up in a brand new Jeep Larado to land in their 18' bass boat. Now this ramp has a gentle grade to it and is rippled cement for traction. Well apparently a Jeep can't tow much because after a few minutes of trying to pull the boat up the ramp they found the only way to do it was to get some extra guys and push the jeep while the driver nailed on it!
Too funny! Considering I haul a boat I'm won't ever think about Jeep as an option!
Here is one of me parking my 2007 Sea Doo Challenger 180.
Sweet boat, I just recently purchased a 2007 Sea Doo Speedster 200. Don't have any pics of it with my Titan yet, but to respond to a couple of the posts.
As far as controlling it, it is definately more difficult at slow speeds than an outboard. There is no true "neutral", so you are always going forward. You'll learn some tricks, usually when I'm going into a dock, I keep going back and forth between neutral and reverse to go in very slow. Also, when going in reverse, you have to turn the wheel in the opposite direction as you would on an outboard to go in the expected direction.
As for towing it, I have no problems with my 2wd Titan. My wife has an AWD QX56 and the boat feels steadier behind the Titan.
I'll get a pic of the boat behind the Titan this weekend.

Thanks...One trick I learn is when in a no wake zone put it in forward but leave the gas at idle maybe a tad bit more and you get better control. I dock just as you described its a pain but it gets the job done. I need to get more pics of the boat in the water and behind the titan.

check out my trucks transformation.
I tow our 25 ft bluewater deckboat with my 07 xe cc non big tow with no problems and even running peg leg up the ramp with the stock tires there was a little spin but pulls her out everytime. but i will have a truetrac in by next summer and now i have 35" hankook dynapro m/t so we will see if it gets any easier.
My 1990 Mastercraft Maristar 210. Pulls like a champ and trailers great too. Hell, it's got a motor that's bigger than the Titan (351 Windsor).

2005 Titan LE Crew Cab 4x4 ***Gone, but not forgotten. Take your trailer hitch off when not towing, or else an impact could buckle your frame and warp your bed, causing the insurance company to total your truck ***
My modest rig, a Crestliner Fishhawk 1750 at one of my secret lakes.

The Titan or the Pathfinder pulls my 20 ft Yamaha Twin-Jet boat.
And yes, there is definitely some degree of difficulty manuevering a jet boat at no wake zones, however, having twin jets with dual throttle controls helps significantly by allowing varying RPMs slightly up or down on either one of the two engines for directional stability.
I had these in the Towing thread, but I guess this one is more appropriate...
gr8titan, how is your throttle set up? I have three total: a single for forward/neutral/reverse and seperate ones for the gas for each engine...
Also, I was watching a video with jet boats, so last weekend I gave it a shot with two of my buddies in the boat...Go full speed (52-54 MPH) and cut the wheel as hard as you can. You literally do a 360 and when you get all the way around, straighten out the wheel and you come out of the hole never having to let off the gas. It was hysterical, I had to do it about 15 times...we were in the intracoastal and had people calling for us to do it again.
I pull a 22' bay boat with my '06 CC and actually bought it for that reason. It does a great job! As for wheel spin I have only had that one time and it was very slight and it was the steepest ramp I have ever ever seen (was at a canyon lake). If you have this problem it is not from lack of power, it is usually because of a very steep ramp and an excess of growth or very wet. You can avoid this by several ways put some weight in the rear end or take the ramp at a slight angle not straight when pulling out.
