'Smoke Wagon' KC SE 4x4 OffRoading

Here's pictures of our 'Smoke Wagon' on our 1st 'real' off-roading trip. the trail to this lookout of the Ishi Wilderness, Lassen Nat'l Forest, was wet and slippery with the snow packs and mud pools.

we saw two ATVs and three well equipped wranglers, but we saw no other pickups. we used 4wd-hi (and saw lots and lots of that VDC "Slip" warning flashes).

we did not get suck and we had one near miss: as we splashed off a big mud bath (convering up all of the windshield) the big sweep of the wipers reveal a hefty wide tree that jumped out in front in colision path, but the Titan wasn't fooled and luckily we veered right back into the trail with no more than a brush with the branches.

we did not need the 4w-lo, but the thought of getting stuck in a mud pool only an hour away from dusk with no winch nor locking-axle nor much anyone else (smarter people, the wranger drivers, all having moved out already) around motivated me to go bit fast in hope of not getting mired: it worked, lucky me.

again, titan's a amazing ride. them 32.7x11.2 tires, rancho shocks, and the nissan magic in the front end kept us comfortable (much more so than the 2000 wrangler in this type of terrain) and (sort of) in control.

just too bad the one i got she's a heavy drinker: only get 11 mpg (mostly on highways 80 & 5, averaging 85mph or 2300 rpm) for the trip.

darn fun to ride, on or off road.

Man looks like you had a good time. At least you live in an area where it warm most of the time, which means you can wash it when you get it home.

Not here in the Mid-Atlantic...the water freezes before it get to the end of the hose. Not really, but it will freeze to the truck.

Enjoy!
