My Pics, Custom Dash and Stereo

Hey gang, here is my Titan.

2 7' Sony TV's, one in the dash and one overhead, 3 kicker amps powering 2 - 2 8" L& subs, and 8 kicker midrange total throughout the interior. DVD mounted in the console, Alpine deck under the dash TV and lemme tell ya...I wasnt going for the big bass sound but good lord....this truck sounds like it's got a couple of 12's hidden somewhere. Anyway here it is...

Finally someone has done what I wanted to do all along with the front dash!
What an awesome setup. Does it all work with the steering controls or do you lose that when you go aftermarket? And what are the model # of the hardware i.e. dvd player/screen ?

Was that head unit install a completely custom one-off, or is there a company making something like that now? And if so, where can I find it? I'd like to install a standard 1-din, perhaps 1.5, but I haven't seen any install kits yet.

Well actually for an additional 100$ at my local stereo shop I could have had everything incorporated to include steering wheel control. But I found out *after* it was done =P so I have to go back and get it done *for free* because they didnt tell me =) Anyway here is the list of everything:

Apline CDA-7998 (which flips out to have the larger screen)
Kicker 400.1 Amp (One amp on each 8' L7 sub about 470 watts each)
Kicker L7 8' sub (mounted under rear seat loading downward)
K69 6x9's and R22 Tweets -Front Stage (Yes we have 6x9's in the front doors )
K60 6" and R22 Tweets - Rear Stage
Kicker 600.4 Amp to run the Mids and Highs
Sony MCV-101 DVD Player Vacuum Load (Mounted Verticle)
Sony XVMH65 6.5" Monitors

The custom work in the dash ran me about $200.00 but I have known the guys at that shop for 10 years so they might have cut me a slight deal. Box was about the same. I was gonna do the whole 10" TV in the dash thing but this way *IF* I ever sell my truck all I have to do is buy a replacement dash set and it's back to factory.

Lemme know if you guys have any questions.

I've been looking for a template to install aftermarket Pioneer or Alpine DVD/GPS in. yours looks perfect.
2 questions:

1. The color match - Was it painted to match the rest of the dash?
2. Is the piece commercially available?

Thanks,

D-Titan

It is not commercially available...The guys at Ultimate Audio really did a great fiberglass job on this install. The paint was from a local custom paint shop and mixed to match the OEM dash. Everyone that has seen it just assume it came from the factory like that Anyway thanks for all the compliments.

P.S. - The reason I picked that Alpine out of all the others, as we all know the interior dash lights on the Titan are a type of Orange. This head un it matched the dash lights perfectly and not to mention was the best looking

DVD is mounted straight up and down in the center console on the drivers side (perfect fit) still allows plenty of storage in the console.

I have no idea of the measurements of the box There is so much fiberglass and wood in that thing...I remember putting in took 3 guys Because of the airspace needed for the L7's they had to squeeze every cubic inch they could so it is a very custom application. I saw a box on E-bay not too long ago which looked very similar and claimed to house 2 8's or 2 10's.

Do you happen to have any pictures of the enclosure with the seats in the up and down position. Also, are the amps mounted behind the seat back of the rear seat? I didn't realize there was any space back there. I don't actually own a Titan yet, but I hope to make the big purchase later this year. In the mean time I'm trying to plan out my stereo install. Thanks in advance!

How to connect Audio to the Factory Head Unit??

Very nice set up!!!

If I install a DVD player is there a way to connect the audio from the DVD to the BACK of the factory head unit? I have the SE Pop Pkg w/ 6-disc (not R.F.), and over head ext console. Or do you have to use the Aux jack in the front?

I'll have to snap some more pics...

Yes the amps are behind the back seat and fit nicely even on the amp rack. Also with my DVD player, it connects to the back of the TV in the dash and then runs to the overhead. The new TV's have what looks like an old RF module (I know its not but looks the same) and I think those are fairly standard for a DVD install. Would be best to ask your local stereo shop though =)
