Tinting decreases visibility at night. I think that alot of states only allow tinting of a narrow strip at the top of the windshield, where it will shield against sun during the day, but not interfere with visibility at night.

had mine done a shade lighter than the back 3 and the added shade it provides is phenomenal and keeps the titan from boiling inside. you can still see with absolutely no problem at night, either from inside or outside. i highly recommend it, plus it looks a helluva lot better.

HI craig,
I know this is not related to your window tinting topic but I needed to ask a question for a Socal person. Just wondering how your ride is on the 10 freeway in San Gabriel Valley? My ride is very bouncy, I used to have a tundra and my ride was never this bad. When I test drove the vehicle it was on the 210 freeway and the freeway is pretty smooth, so it felt great. Now I am driving on that part of the 10 everyday and on the 5 by Dodger stadium and it is too bouncy...what do your think????Thanks
By the way I paid $49 for my tint without a strip...works just fine.....

hey wasup prometheus--did you get the windshield done also. I want mine done to protect the dash as that thing gets way hot when it hits over 90 degrees in norcal--does it help-- I am installing leather and would like to protect that also from so much sun blazing

Getting your whole windshield tinted is illegal as hell in all states. The most you can do is a few inches at the top, check the state laws to see how wide of a stripe you can do.

on the driver side of the windshield there is a mark about 3-4 inches from the top that says "AS-1" and has a line that is the most you can tint on the front, at least for most states anyways.

When I got mine done I asked the guy who owned the shop and had did my last several vehicles if he could do them alittle darker than normal so I could keep the truck cooler during the summer. I even offered to pay extra. Even though he knows me well and obviously I would not sell him out if I got ticketed, he said no way. He said that the Sherrif's dept had been to his shop (pop-ins) several times in the last two years to check reciepts, look at work in progress and warn him about people they had busted.

He also said he gets visits from insurance companies.
He said that if you are in an accident at night and you have illegal tint the insurance companies are not covering your loss and also will drop you. If there is a severe injury or death, even straight up accidental with no drinking or drugs involved you have big legal problems for having illegal tint.

Funny you should bring this up. I took the Titan out to Dodger stadium twice this weekend. This was my first trip into LA with it. It was INCREDIBLY bouncy in the carpool and #1 lanes for 3/4 of the trip. My 1500 did not bounce like that. I have taken the Titan down to the beach (down 57, across 22) several times and never noticed this. That 10 is horrible for the bounce in this truck. Im glad I dont drive that strech very often.
