New Member - Diff. Problems

Just wanted to say hello as a new member. I have appreciated the detail of the defect descriptions found in this forum. I have 5200 miles on my truck and noticed some moisture around one bolt of my diff. cover and some moisture around two circular indentions on either side of the diff. about 5" down the shaft. Took it to my dealer - they told me that the welds were bad and the fix was to replace the entire assembly. They noted that my fluid level was fine though. The parts have been ordered. As a side note because of this forum I have either fixed or noticed other problems on my truck such as the broken plastic around the forward console screw and the highly irritating squeak around the instrument cluster bezel. Welcome! Yup this forum is awesome. I make it a point to check it daily, it's become a habit. Sorry to hear about your diff. problem. Please update us when you have it replaced.
