Exclamation Flooded Engine. Need Help!

Ok guys so last Monday I drove my Titan for about 15 miles with the fuel light on to work. When I went to leave for the day it would not start anymore. So I though I had run out of gas. So I put 4 gallons into it and it still would not stats. While trying to turn it on, I kept pumping the gas. Well finally my battery died, Well it seemed like it was low from the beginig. Then I tried to jump start it and that didnt work either. I could hear the fuel pump si that ruled that out. Finally I pulled my spark plugs out and they were soaked in gas. I herar this term is called FLOODED ENGINE. The guy at Auto Zone told me that the only way to get rid of the gas is by putting new plugs in it and keep trying to start it. But that once that happens the plugs will be ruin again. Well it did worj and after a few tries my truck turned on so I drove it home. Then a few hours later I tried to start it again and it would not. This time making a weird noise like it was misfireing. Could this be true?? Do I really need to get plugs for it again or do i have a diffrent problem??? Sorry about the long story but Im just tryin to get good info... Thanks Guys!

Re: Flooded Engine. Need Help!

I would think that the ECU wouldn't let the engine flood. Odd. Are you getting any lights on the dash or codes?

Re: Flooded Engine. Need Help!

x2 there is no way the computer will keep sending gas to the motor. i would say there is something wrong ... what year is it ? If its under warrenty have it towed to the dealer and dont say anything about it being low on gas...

Re: Flooded Engine. Need Help!

Something else may be wrong. But if you do have spark, fuel etc.. you can try to start the truck while someone pulls out the fuel pump fuse and wait for it to try and start then put the fuse back in. This worked on an RX8 I was working on. Just make sure the battery has a good charge.

Red face Re: Flooded Engine. Need Help!

it has been a couple of days now and since then I pulled the plugs out again and they seemed fine. My truck turns on randomly now. Like I can go up to it and turn it on with no problem and go back to it an hour or so later and it fails to start. Another thing that happens now is, it shuts off after a while. It does this while driving it or just ****ing there running. I saw that when I turned the switch to on the check the engine light flashed 5 times. Im thinking thats a code right?? Does anyone know what that would be???
