I've Got Two New Problems With My Truck

First... My drivers side Window stop working!
It got stuck in the down postion! And would not come up!
The Dealer took my door apart and tested the window. The Tech did some Voltage testing and found out that my complet Window Motor was SHOT!!! They have to Special Order the part!! I did have some luck! They were able to get my window up for me, we are supose to have rain and some snow comming! They said a few days to get this part.
I Hope this isn't going to be a problem with these window motors!!

Second problem is that my Starter is NOT Disengaging!!!
It stays ENGAGED After you trun the key and the Motor is Running!!!!
It sounds like a loud BAN for 2 to 3 seconds after you start the motor! It kind of sounds like if you turned the key to start it while the motor was still running! Like the starter gear hits the fly wheel!!
This really Has ME DOWN!!!
They will have to take the Intake Manafold off to get to the starter!!!
I was really hoping with this truck that I wouldn't have this kind of work NEEDED SO SOON!!! I hope this is with just my truck! And that I'm the only one with these problems!!! I would feel better then anyway!! When you add my radio problem with this, as I'm sure they will have to take the dash apart. Thats just alot of taking apart for me!!! my truck is not two months old!!

Not good. Did the window stop working at the same time the starter problem appeared?

No..the window has been screwing up off and on, it would get stuck but never stop working untill last night, it lock-up with the window all the way down. The starter just started to do this. The starter might just be a freek thing with mine! I would hope that this would not be a problem spot with these trucks. This is the first truck that I know of that puts it's starters under the intakes! What can I do? They have to take it apart to get to it. Just my luck!

Sorry to hear about your problem Deepwater. The intake manifold needs to come off to get to the starter? That's nuts. Man normally that's a job most people can just do by themselves but to do all that is not good. Let us know how the repairs went and your experience with service. Take Care...

If I'm not mistaken, the GM Northstar engine requires intake removal as well. It moves the starter away from the exhaust pipes in an attempt to make it last longer.

I'd make them check the regulator in the door as well and at least lube it. If you were having problems before could something not be lined up or binding? Maybe the motor windings were done poorly.

I also have the radio problem - it showed up at 200 miles or so.

I did ask them to check the regulator. I read that some members had it go out on them. But the tech said I had Voltage to the motor, it was just locking up. The motor should engage when there is voltage pressent. He said it was a bad motor. I am wondering if there might be a starter solaniod or relay switch that is not on the starter that can be check? Any body know?

Up- Date

I just got a call from the service department, my window motor has come in! They over nighted the part. This was REALLY Fast! It has been less then 24 hours sence I was first in there for this. I am very happy with them! They are putting it in at 2:30 today! I'm going to talk to them about if there's a relay switch they can check that engages my starter. Hope to get some good news on this!

Man, that sucks. Glad they're fixing it so quickly though.

My driver's window is erratic sometimes, too. Oh, the joys of owning a brand new vehicle...

Thanks guys for the support!!!
Well went in there to replace the bad window motor, and I was talking with the tech about making sure he retest the regulater to make sure it's ok. I told him I didn't want him to take it apart twice to fix this! And that I've herd of them being bad in some trucks. He said he also dosn't want to take it apart more then once to fix this! So he went ahead and ordered the regulater for the window also! He said we might as well replace both the window motor and regulater at the same time just to make sure! I told him I agree with you! I do not want to come back and have to put in the reg. So I'm happy with that! I go in there Mon. or Tuse. of next week for the work! The funny thing is I went through the drive through window at Micky- D'S and I forgot that my window wasn't working right, It rolled all the way down and I thought OH @#$%$ I'm not going to be able to get it to roll back up!!!! WELL I hit the switch and it ROLLED UP!!!! I have not tried this again though!! I don't want to push my luck with it! And have it lock up on me again!! I'll feel better when it's all replaced!!
