Before I start this, let me say it has only happened once and I was able to correct it. What I want to hear is if anyone else has experienced the same thing. If I am the only one then no one can sit here and say that this problem is common to all Titans.
I was out driving today (it is 80 degrees) and the last time I restarted my truck and accepted the annoying Nav Screen agreement, I got a DVD Error message. I took the DVD out of the player, dlew on it to blow off any dust that might have gotten on it and reinserted it. It took me 10 restarts to get it to clear and start working correctly again. It seems to be working fine ever since.
Anyone else have this problem?

I had this problem also. Every once in a while I would get a disk error. A couple of weeks ago, it happened again. This time I could not get the DVD player to read the disk. The dealer is ordering a new Nav DVD player. I has been 2 weeks and I am still waiting. Hopefully, this will fix the problem. I will keep you posted.

I have seen this issue a couple of times as well. In all cases I was able to resolve the problem by ejecting the disk and re-inserting it. The dealer has seen the issue once and 'resolved' the problem by cleaning the disk. Issue still occurs, they informed me that the next step would be to replace the drive.
Same here. A DISK ERROR requried me to remove the DVD, clean it and reinsert it. Remember you have to restart the truck once you get it reinserted or it will not reboot.
Same problem twice, cleaned disk and has not happened again for last few weeks. I called 1-800- nissan and talked to the NAV people they said there is a hardware problem and to take it to the dealer. I have not done that yet.
There is a software fix that your dealer can do that will fix the problem, you do not need new hardware! If your service dept. checks Nissan assist it will tell them what to do.
I just had to do it to my Titan a week ago and all is fine.
Do you have any more details on this fix? My NAV is dead and Nissan can't seem to get me a replacement.
Tex,
It is a software fix. Your service dept. has to check Nissan "Assist" they will know what I am talking about and it will have the re-program to load to fix the problem takes only a few minutes. If this does not fix it than it is a hardware problem but so far I have only heard of the software being the problem.
