Question New titan and question??

hey guys finally got my new titan about two weeks ago and i love it!!!! One question i have is about accelerating from a dead stop. When i hit the gas, i feel a jerk or hitch like the tranny just dropped into gear ( not sure if its the tranny ) after that, i dont ever feel it -- only when i start from a dead stop... however, if i start out real sloooow it will not do this. could it be the car is not broken in per say??? any ideas would be appreciated and thanks for all the info on my titan.... jer

You know, I think your service manager should check it out. Such as this should not occur. Could even, possibly, though not probably be--loose motor mounts.

I also have to suggest taking it in. You never know what it could be, but I am sure if the dealership is somewhat good they can find the problem.

One thing I noticed (that was really pissing me off until I figured it out) is the black rubber covers on the rails mounted on the floor of the bed. They slide to the rear (and hit the tailgate) when accelerating hard from a stop, and they slide to the front (hitting the front of the bed) when stopping hard. I first thought my bed was shifting. I could feel them hitting. They don't move when starting and stopping slowly.

Pull them off and see if that fixes your noise.

two frinds of mine have isuxu rodeos. Both of them did that. It is pretty loud when it happens. Both are female drivers who don't take care of their cars (not to offend any ladies but its true about them two). So neither of them have taken to the dealer to see what was the problem. Let us know what you find out.

Weird drive by wire feel

When I test drove the Titan,I noticed it was very "jerky" from a dead stop.I finally got the hang of it and barely pressed the pedal. It might be the drive by wire technology. We are accustomed to pressing the accel.,and having that mechanically opening a throttle plate;now when we press it,it sends a signal to open the plate.Maybe it is the nearly instant nature of the drive by wire signal versus the certain amount of delay from cable stretching, slack being taken up,whatever, that we get with a pure mechanical throttle.Maybe Nissan just didn't calibrate it well enough to mimic the mechanical throttle??
I'm guessing. It is worth mentioning it to the service rep.Luck,Charlie

just took the titan out for a " test " drive and one thing i noticed is that when i come to a nice sound stop and THEN accelerate, it is a " smooth " start with no jerks. However, if i sort of roll to a stop -- very light on the brake -- and then accelerate, it seems to jerk a bit ( not everytime ) likes its just finding the right gear to get into. Im probably just paranoid. Thanks for all the input guys. jer
