Excellent. The 50 minute extra drive was worth it. Worked for 4 months with a local dealer and couldn't get it done even though I purchased a Quest in November from them. Went to CC Nissan and got it done. They brought it up from Florida and didn't even extend that cost to me. Paid 2% over invoice. I was happy. Heard their service department isn't very good, but the sales experience was great!!!

Peak Nissan in Littleton Colorado.

Worked with Courtney and Stephanie in Internet sales.

The best experience I've ever had buying a vehicle.

Honest, fair, aggressive price, great communication etc.

Better price and responsiveness than either Denver Elway dealer, or the Longmont dealer...

Dealer/Location: Port City Nissan Portsmouth, NH
Salesmen: Ron Moulton & Nathan Belanger
Experience: Excellent

I have been a Nissan owner (Nissan's & Infinity) for close to 20 years. I went through the VPP program. We went to 4 other dealerships (2 in MA and 2 in NH). We received less than what I would consider VPP service. Little effort to find the vehicle that we wanted. Few returned calls. The calls received were to discuss vehicles that did not match our specifications. I even went to the dealership that I bought my previous King Cab from and told the sales manager that I would have never believed that I would have to chase a car salesman. The folks @ Port City really worked for us. Christina in the office called every day with an update on their vehicle search. We really liked a SE 4x4 that they had on their lot, however we didn't like the interior and exterior colors. We told the folks to find one with the same packages, at the same, price, with the colors that we wanted and we had a deal. The vehicle was found within 2 days and two days later I drove it home. Nate and Ron were attentive and thorough. When the vehicle was delivered, we noticed that one of the bed options was different from the other model (a bed tray instead of an extender). "No problem", they would swap it out w/no cost differences. My wife is threatening me about going back and buying a 350Z from Port City.

Hey Sproket,

That sounds great. I am in MA and work in Salem NH. and looking for a Titan. Can you tell me what your deal was? MSRP, out the door price etc. Maybe I can use you as a referral and I can get the truck I want and you can get a referral fee.

Makes everyone happy!!

Forgive me, Sproket for speaking out of turn, but, TitanNewbie... He said in his post that he used the VPP program. The price on that should have been approx. $150 or so below invoice prior to rebate.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Vpp

I'm not sure how the VPP works for different businesses. Here's how it works for mine:

Invoice
Minus VPP discount (2.87% Nissan or 1.65% Infiniti)
+ Dealer added options
+ Dealer delivery fee (negotiable, maybe?)
+ Destination fee (negotiable, maybe?)
+ Marketing assessment or warranty recovery
- Incentives
= Purchase Price

Frankly, in looking at the pricing thread I think that a number of folks are doing better than VPP.

Boy, am I glad I'm not the only one. I've used Ford's X-Plan a couple of times and always felt pretty darn good about it. I'm seriously in the market for a Titan, but I have to wonder if the VPP is even worth it. Sure, it's no haggle, but I'd HATE to leave money on the table.

Hi 4-Dan, I am not aware of the VPP program that is why I was unaware of it. What does it stand for and how do you go about it.

Can anyone verify if this si a good way to go or should you just do straight negociations

Just seeing the best way to get the best price

VPP is a pre-negotiated pricing plan for Nissan employees and employees of supplier companies, although the tow are eligible for different discounts (direct employees of Nissan get a better deal). Details can be found at www.insidenissan.com.

Depending on the size of your company and business segment, you may qualify and not even know it. Check w/ your HR dept.

I used Carsdirect.com and was very happy with the whole transaction. I did a search of all the dealers within 200 miles of my home. I found one that met my needs and then priced it on Carsdirect. At the time their price was $1,100 below invoice, this included a $1,000 rebate. I ask my local dealer if they would just sell the same vehicle at invoice + the rebate. Their answer was a flat no. I'm not big on haggling, so I decided to go with Carsdirect. They had it delivered to a dealership that was fairly close to me. As I was completing the paper work the salesman told me they get about 40% of their business off the internet. I definitely would Carsdirect.com again. BTW I was also eligible for the Ford X-Plan.
