Re: Service Department Experiences

I can top that one. The dealer scratched the chrome off my wheel while replacing a TPS for the 3rd time, and they gave me 1 6 spoke to go with my 3 5 spokes. So 3 weeks later they have finally gotten the right wheel in, so they say...
so the service guy was showing me an intake they installed on a truck and it basically came off as he opened the hood. talk about attention to detail.
oh well

Re: Service Department Experiences

I had my front struts replaced and 20 Hwy miles later at a friends house, I decide to check out the job the dealership did.. Loose Bolts! WTF! This is not the first time I have had problems either. But if you can't trust the Dealership to do the Job WhO can you Trust? If I had the know how and equipment I would do it myself but that is what their "Expertise" is Hired for..

Talking Re: Service Department Experiences

If anyone is in Abbotsford, BC, Canada I would recomend Abbotsford Nissan. Their service dept. is a breath of fresh air. Took my 04 LE KC in cause the 4LO light was flashing, wouldn't shift into reverse occasionaly, grinding noise coming from trans area when it wouldn't shift and to top it off anti freeze leaking from the front end somewhere. I've got 102,000Km on it with Extended warrenty to 120,000 so they ended up replacing :Rad ,transfer case, rear diff and they found the left rear brake caliper was binding so they changed it too. All covered under warrenty, while they had my baby I got them to do the 96,000KM/48MTH service, she feels like a brand new truck that I loved from the start.

It's about a 2 hour drive to get to the closest dealership for me. Before I went to Abbotsford, I had taken my truck to River City Nissan in Kamloops, BC, AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE, the first time I went to them it was to get the AC repaired, wouldn't work when it was hot out. they ordered the parts went to install the first one( apperently there are 3) after installing they are supposed to re-program the computer, well their patch cord that plugs into the truck from the computer, breaks a pin off of it so they can't do anything. Off I go to come back another day.they ended up fixing the AC. So a month later the park brake light comes on when I'm driving and when I step on the brake they bite really hard. I really don't want to drive to the dealership so my Dad puts it on his trailer and takes it in for me as I had to work. when he got it there he had some difficulty shifting into gear and had told the mechanic this when he drove it into the shop. The next day I phoned to see what they found out and they said they reprogamed the ABS brakes and it wasn't covered under warrenty because no new parts were installed. Besides the warrenty on this sort of thing is only 3 yrsor 60,000KM, or this is the line they sold me for $204.29 CDN. They did nothing about the shift problem, so the next week is when I took it to Abbotsford. I would have thought that if I brought it in for a brake problem they might have looked at the brakes and found the Caliper hanging up??? Sorry I just needed to vent.

Re: Service Department Experiences

Dealer: Mossy nissan national city
Service advisor: Emmit
Experience: Very poor

oil filter was not changed last oil change. told me i would have to pay for them to check my titan because he and his mechanics kept assuming the problem is with my after market flowmaster catback. did not want to check again before claiming the problem was the flowmaster. i will not go to that service department again.

Re: Service Department Experiences

Cherry Hill Nissan - Cherry Hill NJ
Currently Mike
Experience - Excellent
Truck - '04 SE KC

Considering my negative experience with sales and parts, it's hard to believe this shop is in the same building
Side note to sales and parts:
1, just because you don't have the truck a customer wants on the lot is that really a reason to walk away from a 30K+ sale (literally in mid conversation).
2, Parts desk, you have to assume in the 21st century that somebody might actually know the retail price of an accessory before they call for a quote.

Obviously based on my 2 experiences above when shopping and looking for the sliding toolbox I was wary about the shop, but they are very near my house and my first visit at 3Kmiles was just an oil change. No problems so I decided to keep going back until something went bad, after 4 1/2 years nothing has.

I only put 6-7K on the truck a year so I am well behind the curve on fun things like brake judder and ATF switch issue. So I know the answers and have the TSBs in my pocket when I show up at the counter, but they have never said anything to me.

2/06 - 12K oil change 4LO light is flashing. I mention this when I drop it off, they say "we will look at it", when I pick it up the order shows the ATF switch replaced under warranty.

8/06 - Brake Judder shows up fast and hard (60 miles away). I know it's safe but it is a scary ride home, drop it off for oil and tell them about the shaking. They say no problem and replace all the parts in a couple hours.

7/08 - 30K means a $500 oil change (I know a little more than that is involved). I ran over a nail or screw and have a slow leak in the right rear (that alarm goes off about 24hrs after the air is added now). I switch to the spare and when I take it to the shop for the oil change I tell them. I got a leak the tire is in the bed, the spare is on. I took off my locking lug when I changed to the spare and left it and the key in my cup holder but never mentioned it to them. When I came to pick it up they fixed the tire for free (the crappy Goodyears are out of warranty) filled all the tires with NO2 (that wasn't free) and found my locking lug and put it back on.

They are always very busy, but will listen when you talk (there are 4-5 advisors at the desk), and have never attempted to give me any noise about any issue. I am impressed especially since I did not but the truck from them.

While I am not a fan of $500 or $270 services at 30K and 15K and think an air filter should be changed with every oil change, I trust their work and would recommend the shop to anybody in the South Jersey/Philly Metro area.

Re: Service Department Experiences

News update about CCN.... CCN is no more, Crossroads has bought them out and it's a whole new dealership. The sad thing is that Sharon is no longer there. I've always have had my service done there and I'm going to see if the new owners will go that extra mile like CCN did.
If any of the members here gets service at Crossroads, please keep everyone informed with the service you get. Last time I was in to get an oil change, I didn't get that warm fuzzy feel'n like I use too. lol
