Took my truck in for it’s 7500 mile service at Tynan’s Nissan in Aurora. I went ready for action, armed with copies of the TSB’s, but I didn’t need them. Here’s the scoop:
Brakes: The service manager (Jay) was aware of the TSB and replaced them per the specifications, no questions asked.
Radio: Again, they were aware of the TSB and immediately ordered me a new HU. They’ll call when it comes in.
Bedliner: They were aware of this issue, too. Tynan handles it in a similar manner as they would defective paint. (I don’t know if all Nissan dealers do it this way, but it seems like a reasonable approach.) Jay’s setting up a meet with a Nissan Rep, who will inspect my bedliner and then determine what action to take. It’s definitely bubbling, so he’s certain there won’t be any hassle, it’s just a procedure that they have to follow before Nissan will pay for the fix. Rather than replacing the whole bed, Jay seems to think they’ll recommend a new liner (don’t know what brand yet). That’s fine with me.
Differential: I requested that they check it, and they said the level was fine. Paint is still good on the enclosure, too.
Loaner: No hassle at all. They gave me a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT. Pretty good for a loaner, but after spending a day in that thing, I’m REAL glad I have my truck back. It was a real eye-opener to drive a Ford, now that I’m used to the Titan! The Explorer was nice enough, quiet, well appointed, and it drove “okay,” but it was B-O-R-I-N-G. No excitement there, at all. More evidence that Titan puts the fun back into driving. Oh, I almost forgot, the Explorer's radio sucked. FM acted like we're used to on this board, treble fade and diving to mono. Go figure...
All in all, I’m very satisfied. That’s the kind of service and attention we should all expect when our trucks (or cars) have legitimate problems.

I have dealt with three of the Service Reps., including the Service Manager. Service has been outstanding. My visits for service have been for minor things, but I was always treated with excellent customer service and as hard as it is to believe - everything was done when they said it would be and as they said it would be.
I know this might sound like a "mole's" recount, but my experience with this dealership has been the best experience ever (end-to-end). If you are looking to buy a Titan and you live in the Houston area, you will be sorry if you don't check this new dealership out.

Took mine into Gates Nissan Winchester, KY this morning with a rather long list. As usual I was treated extremely well. I've truely never had a better experience buying, (salesman Howard), or servicing, (service manager Jake), a vehicle than each time I've gone in or called this dealership.
They asked if I had a ride home and went and got a Maxima off the lot and put a temp tag on it and handed me the keys. Miss my turck but this Max is SWEET also so I think I can make do for a few days.
This is why I bypassed the local dealer in Lexington, KY and purchased and servicing out of town. The minor inconvenience is worth it for the service. I had taken my GMC to the local dealer once in 2002 and learned not to buy or service there, (even though they sent me a letter offering a years free oil changes if I would bring my Titan to them for service - no thanks - very happy where I am).
Sevice manager knows I'm on this forum and told me to bring any fixes I knew of for the work I am getting done since we are usually getting info ahead of the dealers.
WOW! You can't ask for better people to work with.

Dealership - Deland Nissan - Deland, FL
Service Advisor - Derek
Service Manager - Larry
Experiences - 1st-poor, 2nd-average, 3rd-Excellent (and feel good about going back)
1st experience was the day I bought the truck. There was a vibration I was unsatisfied with. Was told by a different service advisor that it was probably a flat spot...so dirive the vehicle awhile and it should go away. I thought this was b/s but told him I would be letting him know.
2nd experience - Found some paint issues on the edge of the hood. Also, the driver's side right side of hood....2" from edge all the way up the hood, had a different look to paint...like it was taped off to fix the edge. Vibration still there @ 500+ miles. Took TSB on radio with me. Wanted rear diff checked.
Was given a different service advisor (Derek) from 1st experience. He got service mgr to look at paint. Was told the non-glossy paint was left over from tape that held plastic on vehicle. Detailer missed that he would have fixed. Sloppy touch up job on very edge of driver's side hood....needed Nissan paint expert to view. They would schedule a time when he was in area. Wheels were to be balanced. I was walking around the back of the shop, talking on cell phone. Saw a service tech. I asked him if he did the balance job on my truck. He said YES. I asked if they were off much. He said "it's a truck, it's gonna ride rough". I knew I was in trouble then. They could not find the radio TSB but said they should have it anytime. Said they check the rear diff and it needed "almost no fluid". I took off in the truck and the vibration was waaaay worse that before. I called on cell phone and said I was bringing it back Monday (it was now Friday @ closing time). Went to a GoodYear dealership instead of back to dealer. They did road force balance and got the tires better than the day I drove off the lot. However they could not get the hop out. They replaced the tires for $10 each (but got full road hazzard policy) but still had a vibration. I thought I might have a wheel problem. Goodyear dealership SAID they did road force balance
3rd experience - Dealer had my radio in. I complained about vibration with tires that had 100 miles. Service mgr came and drove. I expected to hear "this is normal' but Larry said "this is definitely not right". He told service advisor to check wheel run out and let's get to the bottom of vibration. They installed my radio with no scratches. Wheel runout was fine. Did another road force balance and the tires are virturally perfect. Offered to detail the truck for me but I declined (only getting my hand wash and wax from here on out).
Derek the service advisor got the service mgr involved in both cases. This was much to my delight as Larry was not a pass the buck type guy. Both Larry and Derek seemed earnestly interested in getting me happy in my new truck. I feel very good about returning to them for service. Derek did not just try to blow off my issues. I really like both of these guys.
I had a 2000 maxima and took it to Nissan of Daytona beach. This dealership is 20 minutes closer. They are the worst service dept I have ever dealt with for under warranty service issues. That is why I would never give them one penny of my $$ every again. Stay away from Nissan of Daytona.
RedDevilTitan: I'm curious what you think of Don Davis service department. That's where I go for service. How do they stack up? Thx.
Red,
I've had excellent results from Don Davis, except they won't give me my !@#$ coin tray! Jeremy has been my service advisor on three visits.
Parts dept also excellent.

went in for front brake shimmy, they fixed the shimmy but the tech ground out the insides of my wheels when removing the lug nuts. i complained to service manager , he insisted it was normal wear. after a bit of *****ing and threats they replaced the rims but told me they would not be able to do any work for me that involved removing the wheels from the truck. since every service involves a tire rotation, i guess that means i can't use this dealer anymore.
Eric simply has no memory and is not tuned in to what you are saying. Didn't remember road testing my truck less than a week earlier. Daron is super nice and really trys to make things right and explains everything. The techs not only seem to be behind on the learning curve but are also careless in their work......scratched interior, grease on interior, can't perform alignments. Also, loaners are older, small cars with high mileage.

The service itself was not bad (just took FOR-FREAKING-EVER. Read: 24 hours longer than they told me), but the parts - literally - took months to get in. The parts for my malformed bed extender took over 45 days to get. I need to have my CD changer replaced, and I have that window problem that others have, and they told me they needed to replace the switch (apparently it just needs re-flashed). They told me they'd order the parts and get back to me when they came in. Well, I'm going on 2 months without a call from them. Oh, and to go along with the other one from Sheehy, I didn't get a carwash or anything either. I did get some nice greasy handprints all over the side though. It wasn't a big deal, I had to wash the truck anyways, but man that pissed me off. When I first picked up the truck, they didn't wash it either, they sprayed it down with a hose and hoped I wouldn't notice their shotty job because it was dark. Those detail guys need a serious kick in the rear.

I've always posted a note on the dash of any car or truck I take in for service that reads "Please DO NOT wash this vehicle". If you've ever seen what some wash crews use, you wouldn't want them within a mile of your rig. Dirty water, and wash brushes that look worse than the broom I use to sweep my driveway. Plus idots that use that broom thing like they were swatting flies, dinging and bumping it all over your truck. Take some pride in your ride and gently hand wash it yourself. In over 30 years of driving, I have never run my vehicle through a car wash or let anyone else wash it.

Service Folks = Mgr, Ken Mack. Jerry (always deals with me)
These guys have been great. Always willing to work on my truck and resolve the issues. Once they heard the ticking noise, spent days trying to resolve and finally turned to Nissan. They fixed the tick yesterday based on Deepwater's fix with spark plugs.
2nd dealer = Empire in Lakewood CO
Didn't take time to get names as they were worthless
After driving with me to hear the tick - told me it was normal fuel injectors and "turn the radio up"
John Elway North have been true professionals and worked to make me happy.
Empire is much closer, but will never use them again.
