Peachtree Nissan - Atlanta GA

Experience: Great so far. Took the truck to them for a pre-buy inspection. They diagnosed the front brake problem and offered to provide replacement rotors under the revised TSB since they had already been turned once.

for the converse of this, see below

Nissan of Union City, GA

Service Advisor: Chris

Experience: not so hot. Had the truck taken to them after it failed to start on me (problem w/ the NVIS). Since I was scheduled to take it in to P'tree Nissan next week to have the 2nd brake TSB done, I just asked them to do it if they had the parts. They could do the work, but they refused to replace the rotors, saying that Nissan would not let them if they were still at a certain thickness.

I explained that I had basically 2 choices for service in the future. This dealership is slightly more convenient, but I WILL go where I feel like I'm taken care of. Didn't help, so I guess my baby has seen the last of Union City.

Angry Dealer Wrecked Titan

This is bby far the biggest mistake of my life buying this truck. My latest problem is that after the stearing wheel nealy jumps out of my hand because of the brakes being messed up. They call me back on the phone and tell me they wrecked my truck at the dealership. They give me a loaner and when I come back to pick it up it is a cream color on the quater pannel and the rest of my truck is WHITE! they also busted the clip on my top black moulding on bed and left it for me to find after I got home and left a grey strip of primer all the way down the side of the bed!! They repainted the truck and it is still not the right color. they left the biggest grease foot print on my door pannel. it had to be replaced, they left bodyshop dust all in my truck. I absolutley hate this truck, the dealer, the lier they call the service manger. I shuold have bought another FORD!! Lesson learned. If I could stop anybody from buyinhg this truck I would!!!!! IT IS A PIECE OF CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pinstriped Titan

hello all.... I to had a bad service experience here in SA TX at GUNN NISSAN. I took my truck in for numberouse repairs as we all know are almost the same in every titan owners case. I'm still waiting on parts for the fading radio the sqeeky pasenger chair and the windows that roll up when they fell like it... at this dealership they offer free pinstriping and free 7,500 mile service so i opt for the free 7,500 mile servcie and tell them NO to the free PINSTIPING... they complete the servcie and order the parts after having the truck for a week .. because they couldnt duplicate and AC problem i was having and i finally got the truck back ..well when i pick it up it had pinstriping on it ... they told me they could remove it if i diddnt like it ... but by the time i picked up the truck service was closed already and no one was around to fix it ... i got home and further inspected the pinstriping on the truck to see if i liked it ... its kinda grown on me .. but while inspecting the pinstriping i saw i scratch on the trucks right front fender that wasnt there before ... so i notify the dealer right away and still to this day about a month after bringing it to there attention they refuse to do anything about it ... okay okay they threw some touchup paint on it which looks like crap so i tried to esculate the sproblem and they told me the truck was too dirty to see the cratch whe ni brought it in and when the service writer did the walk aroung ... keep in mind there was no notation frpom the walk aroung that there was a scratch there ... and there excuse is the truck was too dirty to see the scratch ... WTF! thats not my job its the service writers job ... so the PRESIDENT of GUNN CORP. tells me theres nothing they can do cause there guys at the shop would have steped up to the plate to claim responsibiltiy for the scratch .. i said yea .. thats if they knew they had scratched the truck .... but still nothing and also they have yet to get my parts on order .. they are not returning my calls or e-mails ... i've already opened a case with 1800nissan1 and still no call from them either... i call 1800nissan1 and they tell me they are waiting on a call from the dealership ...... what i dont understand is why wont they just fix it .. they are call me a liar and telling me to take a hike.... this was my very first vist to the service department with my very first brand knew vehicle and and the dealership and i have yet to build a relationship and i still have years of service to do on the truck and my wife and i were thinking of buying all of our future vehicles from this dealership because of the great buying experience we had .... . so recap.. they put paint on my truck that i originaly diddnt want and offer to take it off .... and they take paint off of my right front fender and don't offer to fix it .. hmmm ...... any advice from anyone would be of great help .... thanks....

Good God, I am almost terrified to take my truck in! I need the brake TSB and the radio TSB. I also have flaking on the steering wheel cruise control area.
Does anyone have any experience with Austin area dealers? A loaner is a must.
Does anyone know if the dealer has to give us a loaner?
Also, on my first oil change, the place drilled a hole in my skid plate to facilitate oil filter removal. Is that normal?

Pinnacle Nissan - Scottsdale Arizona
Rating - Very Poor

I was lied to by the Finance Woman - Shelly Stone - about prices of add-ons, Service keeps screwing up my truck every time I take it in to get items fixed (only 1500 miles on the truck!) and even the GM does not return calls. I finally have demanded a face to face meeting tomorrow. I wish I could give this bucket of bolts back to them!

dwjjbrown, I was too after reading some of the scarry posts. I might have not gotten the best deal on my truck, still did OK IMO. But I bought from a dealership named Covenant Nissan, she's been in the shop twice in less than a month that I've owned her, and everyone there is great...

Worth it to me, I paid a little more for the truck then I prob. could have negeoated or gone to another dealership, but not having to worry about a scarry dealership is worth it to me...

Covenant Nissan - Paducah Kentucky
Rating - Excellent

Went last Friday (9/24) for her first service, new radio and PDR for a dent in the tailgate that came when the truck was delivered...

The people in the service department have always been great, didnt deal with the service manager (steve) this time, another lady. She was very knowledgeble, and had great customer service skills...

Checked the oil when I got home, it was filled properly, small scratch when they went to replace the stereo, but its un-noticable to me, you really have to look to find it. For all I know it was there before. If the PDR guy had to take apart the tailgate, I coudlnt tell, I dont think he did, but if so they did an excellent job putting it back together, I checked her over good...

They always put the paper thing in the floorbord to keep stains out...

Update on Union City Nissan and Peachtree Nissan

I would like to officially reverse my opinions of the service departments at these two dealerships. Union City was a slow starter, but they have proven to me that they are willing to go above and beyond the call in order to fix my recent problems. They WILL be retaining my business.

Peachtree Nissan, on the other hand, was much more concerned with trying to blame prior issues w/ the truck (there were none) and with trying to get me OUT of the crappy Ford Focus rental car that I was stuck with while my Titan was there. While they "could not diagnose" my starting/electrical issue, Union City stuck with it, and hopefully, my troubles are behind me.

Service Advisor: I'll edit when I find the paperwork
Service Experience: Poor

To make a long story short... Went in for a tire rotation and oil change... Lady at the counter recommended a balancing. I was hesitant and first, but then I thought it has 10k on the truck in 3 months and i've hit some nice potholes so I might as well do it.

Hour later I come back to pick it up.. I went and looked at the wheels/tires and it was obvious they didn't touch the wheel weights. Go inside and she said, the tech rotated and had to balance the tires.. I said, he didn't touch the wheel weights.. She said they were on the inside... I know more then the average Joe Schmo that comes into the dealerships and I knew she had no clue what she was talking about. They remove all weights and then check for balancing. Then apply where necessary etc. I went home and nothing was touched. The wheels have soo much brake dust that it would be obvious if something was new or removed.

I called the Service Manager yesterday with the information.. We'll see what they say today.

Needless to say, Dealers are crooks... I thought this one was a little better then most but I was wrong.

I'll have a report on South Point in Austin later today. A question I have is why didn't the dealer fix the safety recall items before I bought the truck like the recall mandates? South Point also added a "Protection Package" $998.00 to the truck (no I didn't pay for it) but I haven't been able to get an answer from them as to what that is. Anyone out there know?

Can't fix a damn thing the first time. Been trained to use the old "could not duplicate" response.

Dealer/Location: Maxwell Town North Nissan, Austin, Texas
Service Advisor: Greg W
Service Experience: Great

Fixed every problem I have come in with. Those in Austin/Round Rock - if you have problems with the other 2 dealers in town, give them a shot at Town North/Maxwell @ Mopac/183. Greg has been great help to me and my salesman (Lenny) takes care of anything I have brought up. Even took issues all the way to the GM and they have been taken care of without question. That's something else I would suggest - is climb the ladder if you haven't have results that you expect you should have. At the same time, they're not going to be able to duplicate the problem that you may experience throughout your normal routine. That's a given - haven't ya heard that old adage - works like crap until you take it to the dealer/mechanic (or even if you take yourself to the doctor! LOL) I told my SA about the problem with the drivers window not rolling up (temp resolution is to roll down then up the passenger window then do the drivers side) and he told me the service guy that did the recall stuff and my oil change, that he could not duplicate. I accept that, but that's just me. Good luck though...

Dealer location: Performance Nissan, Duarte CA
Service Advisor: Rick
Salesperson: Jake
Experience: Poor / gives you the run-around

What I noticed about this particular dealership was how well they treat you before your purchase then after they got you.....THEY DON'T CARE! just purchased my titan a month ago for $31,000 and after purchasing the vehicle my salesperson tells me he only has one key and no manuals but he'll get them in a few days. Wait after wait he tells me to come in today to pickup sets of key and alarm and manual. Went to see him and already he gives me the run around and tell me to go the parts/service. The manager tells me to wait and see if he had alarm and keys in stock and after waiting for 1 hr. he gives me the bad news that they're on backorder. I mean we're talking 1 month now! On top of that the vehicle did not have the tie-down cleat lugs and wrench which was suppose to be on my truck since it's part of the package I bought. Still, he tells me I have them....went today to get my parts and they told me they have to order. What the HELLl! I ALREADY purchased my truck couldn't you just grab a new one from another titan? NO!! We have to order......what a piece of crap company. On top of that the steering wheel is so OUT OF ALIGNMENT and faces to the right. The service manager tells me to leave it overnight which I couldn't cause I have to drive my mother to the airport. No rentals allowed by BTW. Then he went on to tell me it'll be fine driving like this.....he also said all the used cars drive like that. I'm SHOCK! This is a NEW vehicle, shouldn't be pulling to the right and damn it's dangerous. Then another problem I had was finding out the hard way that I have to wait 10 seconds to roll up my passenger and driver windows if it's roll down all the way. It was raining extremely hard this past saturday and DAMN windows won't work as well as squeaky wipers. Got my interiors wet and who knows what else. Today, he tells me to wait awhile for the windows to roll up and demonstrated it for me cause he tells me there's a safety switch. I'm like, so even during rain or snow I have to wait 10 seconds for it to go up. What gives. I deeply have regrets reagrding my purchase at THIS dealership PERFORMANCE NISSAN. Although it was a couple hundred dollar cheaper than another dealership. I would gladly trade my horrible experience and pay a little more than to go through the worst customer service I've ever encounter! The sales manager promises to resolve all these tomorrow. Hopefully, he sticks to his word. We'll see

Still love my truck just wished the dealership own up to it's service

You can take your truck to another dealer at any time for service.

just about any dealership (or any sales based business for that matter) will do this to you. Try calling up a computer maker and talk to their sales reps - they will kiss your A$$ so much to get the system that they think you should get....will have a great conversation with about it, or even other things not related to computers, but the minute you need help they don't know who you are, what you are calling them for or even give a crud that your computer is giving you problems. I'm not trying to take away the problems you have had with them, but unfortunately its the nature of the beast. They want their commission and once they get it they don't care anymore. Granted yeah there are some great dealerships out there (mine is awesome) but the others show what you have experienced. This is probably the reason why they aren't a high volume dealership.

Best thing you can do is go to the next closest dealership and try your hand with them. The best weapon a consumer can have is not to patronize a business that has provided sub-par service and spread the word for people not to patronize them. I'm not talking slandering them, but just speak the facts, cause eventually, if they care, they will attempt to improve their service because 'word of mouth' has gotten around that they aren't any good to do business with. It does affect them more than most think.
