Unhappy Thinking about buying a Titan

I was thinking about buying a Titan till i read about all the problems with the radio, bedliner and windows. Is this something that should turn me away from buying a Titan?

I wouldn't worry about the bedliner or the windows at all. It is a rare thing to have a problem with them. Remember here you are seeing 100-250 people that post about their truck and the issues that affect them. There have been over 30K Titans sold so far this year. That makes those that are on here less than 2.5% (someone check my math) of the number of truck sold.

As far as the radio, take a test drive and decide for yourself if it is an issue. I have not had any problem and I would be willing to bet the majority of those that bought a Titan have had no problem either. Again, the number of people posting here about a problem with their radio is less than 10% of those posting here.

Any new vehicle has problems and this is not an exception. I've have had none of the problems people on here have had. Although I don't take my own advice I generally wouldn't buy the first year of an all new vehicle. If you really want a Titan I would suggest an 05 by then Nissan will have worked the bugs out.

That's my plan... wait for an 05 and the initial Consumer Reports reliability ratings. I'm torn between a new F150 FX4 and a Titan SE OffRoad. Reliability will likely be the deciding factor for me. Ford typically doesn't do well on new product launches. It appears that the only real problem that people are talking about with the new F150 is tire shimmy/vibration problems.

Over the years, I've found that the amount of "problem chatter" on discussion forums is a pretty good indicator of vehicle quality.

If you are going to wait for '05, you might want to try a Tundra with newer engine coming out (if it is reliability you are looking for).

Very true... though I'd be a little leery of the next generation Tundra in its first year too... it's going to be an all new design built in an all new plant (Texas) by all new employees... sound familiar? I'm fairly pleased with my 03 4Runner V8... a first year model also, but only had a few minor annoyances.

Jvodka, don't know where you're getting your info. Here are the figures as of the end of April:

2,072 (Dec)
4,035 (Jan)
4,640 (Feb)
5,532 (Mar)
5,268 (Apr)
-------------
21,547 (total)

The trend is good and Nissan is pleased with the sales to date.
Interesting article at:

My truck squeeks alot too and I have on order a new seat cover due to the stitching coming apart. My hood isnt snug it has some play in it which makes a bumping sound going over the smallest of bumps. Dealer said they will fix that when the seat cover arrives which is now going on 3 weeks UGH! My wife just called me 5 mins ago and was complaing about all the squeeks and bumps she isnt happy at the moment needless to say. She said the truck sounds like its 10 years old with 100k miles on it lol. It was her decision too to but the truck not just mine. I have a loud squeek in the bed area which happens when I go over uneven terrain so Im thinking could it be my rear shocks? another item to bring up whever the seat cover arrives.
