Drive Train "Clunk" Survey

For all of those experiencing the drive train "clunk" I have a couple of questions. First, I would like you to confirm that the clunk is not caused by utili-track covers sliding back and forth or by cleats stored in the utility bed side box. Assuming you have eliminated the possible extraneous causes:

At what mileage on the odometer did you first begint to experience the clunk?

Do you have a 2WD or 4WD truck?

Thanks in advance to all responders.

one thing to think about that i discovered by reading the owners manual is that if you have the VDC it actually is supposed to make a clunk sound when you first start the vehicle and put it into gear (forward or reverse). now, conversly, if this happens at every stop light, thats not normal. just look up VDC in owners manual for more info if this is the possible problem.

1. I do not have the utili-track.
2. It has always done it, I made the assumption it was "normal"
3. 2WD
