Overall break-in period

I just joined this forum last week so I'd like to start by saying that this site is fantastic, the best one I've found. Since we're all looking to resolve problems or to be forewarned about potential problems down the road, I'd like to pose a question. What do you consider a reasonable break-in period overall for the Titan (or any vehicle for that matter)? I'm not referring to the engine break-in as stated in the manual, but rather a reasonable period of time and mileage before you consider yourself trouble free. With televisions, for example, if you don't experience problems within 30 - 60 days, you're not likely to have any for many years thereafter.

Myself, I had a faulty sensor that was tripping several idiot lights within the first week of purchase, the part was ordered and the repair was made and I've had no problems since then. I do have the ****ty FM reception problem like everyone else but no cracked consoles, warped rotors, vibrations, etc. Thanks to this forum, I'm keeping my eyes open for all this stuff though. I think my question needs to be broken down into two categories: mechanical and cosmetic/body integrity. I'm thinking that 12K for mileage and 12 months for cosmetic would be a fair judgement period and if I haven't had any of the known problems by then, then I'm pretty much home free - realizing of course that no vehicle is maintenance free. What do you all think?

BTW, I've had my CC LE 4X4 for a little over two months now and I'm loving it, so far the best truck I've owned and my first Nissan. My mileage is still low, around 1900, due to a short commute but I plan on letting her out of her cage out this summer.

Other brands have trans go out ~50000 miles

I wish 12000 miles was the no worry point, but at least one other brand has transmissions(on many of it's vehicles-all lines) that die around 50000-100000 miles.I never owned a Nissan before,so I'm not sure how good they are-historically-on 1st year models.Nissan is known for good motors;I would guess if they make good motors, they make good trans.
I have a Honda Pilot, very nice,2003 1st year model.We-all the owners of 2003's and some 2004's will be getting recall notices in the next few months. There is some sort of trans problem-rare-but it can cause sudden failure, and loss of power,so it is a recall item.Honda's are supposed to have very good QC ,and engineering,but..not this time.I'm not referring to Honda in the 1st sentence.,that is a German&American corp(hint, not BMW,Audi,Volks).
Nissan probably did their homework on the motor and trans,if they started failing,it could kill their venture into full sized pickups-they know that.If trim falls off,or a few rattles develope,or if the radio is crap, well, those sorts of things don't really sting-especccially on a truck. If the motors or transmissions die,so will Nissan's big truck hopes.I bet we are OK on the big stuff,if we make it past 1000 miles.LuckCharlie
