anyway reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery for 1hr, and voila the light is off now. It may have also been some cheap gas as I used arco last week, and it was almost on E, so i refilled at chevron

I put Arco in my 1971 Corvette when I lived in California a few years ago. It knocked, pinged, sputtered and ran hot immediately afterwards. We limped home and I had to drain the tank. I ran a full tank of someone else's 91 or 93 and it has been fine since.
I'm sure if it had a check engine light, it would have been on.
I don't know what the issue was. The Vette runs fine on everyone's 87 octane but Arco's.
Suffice it to say, I never bought gas there again.
