service engine soon light--2000 miles??

just got my first service engine light today---weird but I think the ecu still cant understand my volant and exhasut right yet. I so need a programmer for the tranny or some sort of chip.

anyway reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery for 1hr, and voila the light is off now. It may have also been some cheap gas as I used arco last week, and it was almost on E, so i refilled at chevron

I put Arco in my 1971 Corvette when I lived in California a few years ago. It knocked, pinged, sputtered and ran hot immediately afterwards. We limped home and I had to drain the tank. I ran a full tank of someone else's 91 or 93 and it has been fine since.

I'm sure if it had a check engine light, it would have been on.

I don't know what the issue was. The Vette runs fine on everyone's 87 octane but Arco's.

Suffice it to say, I never bought gas there again.

I got the "service engine soon" light at 2400 miles. Took it in and they reprogrammed it by downloading new software into the ECU, based on a TSB from Nissan. Free.
