Update! Water On Floor Board

As stated yesterday in the thread about water on floor board, the dealership in Metairie, LA sent my truck to a local body shop that happened to be on my route. I stopped by today and the body shop owner showed me exactly where the water was coming in from. The water was coming in from the rear passenger door handle, dripping down the panel onto the floor board and running to the front when idle (truck slopes to the front, make sense that I could not see water while I was driving). I knew my truck was in good hands when I saw it going in to the shop. Anyone in the New Orleans area need body work done, email or PM me and I'll be happy to give you the name of the shop. He has performed work on my 95 p/u and 2000 Celica and each time the vehicle was repaired correctly the first time. This guys paint jobs are incredible.

I have the same problem so please try and explain this to me. If the water is entering at the door handle, then how is it making the trasition to the floorboard?? Wouldn't the water just roll down to the bottom of the door. How does it travel into the cab?

The water is going through the door handle into the door panel and being dropped onto the floor board in the rear foot area. If you lift the carpet and padding up from the rear pass.you will see how the water travels to the front. Where in Katy? My aunt is a bowling instructor at the bowling alley in Katy.

No more rain on your parade!

I am happy for you! I know how much of a problem it is for you being a fellow Louisianian. I know it rains every day in N'awlins this time of year.

Congrats bro. Glad you didn't have to turn to that lawyer, and got the problem solved outside of the courts. Hope you can enjoy your Titan trouble free from here on out, or at least for a couple more miles!!

I live about 7 miles south of I-10 and the Grand Parkway(99). You think the first thing that I should do to trouble shoot this is to pull the carpet up at the back passenger door and see if it is wet there first? By the way, mine is a crew cab. Is yours also?

Great!!Finally.!!

Wow,bet you are one happy guy;this must have been driving you nuts, and poisoning your relationship with your new truck.Glad the dealership finally had the good sense to admit they were beaten, and send it to experts(I bet it is very rare for the dealers to ever admit that an outsider is better-I kinda like that).
Who is the body shop. You can mention names on this Forum -good and bad. Thanks,Charlie Red KC XE-River Ridge also
.

Excellent!

That's great news, smlatino. I'm curious to know how the water was getting in around the door handle, was there a broken seal or something, and what was the fix? Please keep us posted, and enjoy your truck!

As soon as I pick up my truck after they repair it, I will let you know exactly the cause of everything and what they did to repair it. They didn't repair it at the body shop because the Nissan rep wanted to know exactly the diagnosis before anything was done to the truck.

Well thank goodness, of all the complaints that I have heard on this forum I think that I sympathized with you the most. In my opinion you have been very patient and have not whinned like a little girl like some of the other complainers on this board.
I hope now you can finally start to really enjoy your truck.
My hat is off to ya,
Luck,
Daryl

I posted a new thread with pics in the "problems" section. You should really go check it out. I am 99% convinced that your problem is not as you have been told. If you still don't want to believe me after you have read my post, then atleast continue to monitor the problem even after it has been "fixed". You may find that what I am telling you is the case!!!!

So your vehicle was taken to the body shop for the water leakage! What was the result of that visit? Also you replied to VSHORT the dealer discovered this path as well. So you have confirmed by two professional authorities the entry of the leakage. Has any recommendations been made for a resolution. Perhaps removal of the rear door handle or modified body work to seal the area. Or perhaps a new rear door?
